Eason Chan Releases New Cantonese Album “The Key”
After nearly a year of waiting, Eason Chan’s (陳奕迅) latest studio album, The Key, finally had its release in stores on July 22, 2013. The Key is Eason Chan’s seventeenth full-length Cantonese album and twenty-eighth overall album.
The album consists of 8 tracks and one bonus track “Sail On” <同舟之情>, a duet with Jacky Cheung (張學友). The nostalgic ballad is a promotional song for the Hong Kong government’s social awareness program, Hong Kong: Our Home.
The Key’s first plug, “The Main Theme”, was released on June 14 to chart-topping success. The symphonic pop single, co-written by C.Y. Kong and Lesley Chiang (姜麗文), made headlines earlier last month when Eason expressed that the song was one of his most difficult songs to perform of his career.
The music video of “The Main Theme” was unveiled on Universal Music’s official YouTube channel on July 16. The music video features a plain-faced woman getting a makeover from two masked women. The two masked servants than proceeded to brainwash the woman into memorizing the lyrics and melody to Eason’s song. Eason himself appears towards the end of the music video, and is conducting an entire choir, all women who are dressed in the same plain white clothes and makeup, to sing his song.

Woot woot. Love Eason 😀
Glad he’s got another Cantonese album out.
Actually have this album. It’s REALLY good no joke.
The music for each song is extremely decent. Lyrics wise some were pretty good why some were mediocre

He sucks
Few years ago, I really didn’t find his music appealing as well. I remember that one year that he kept winning awards, I was very surprised. But over the years, he is one of the good singers left in HK music industry. Eason may not be legendary as Gor Gor (imo), but still one of the better ones.
