Jay Chou Looks Forward to Becoming a Husband and Father
At the recently concluded Sprite Music Awards 2014 held at The Venetian in Macau, the Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer awards were respectively won by Raymond Lam (林峰) and G.E.M. (鄧紫棋). Jay Chou (周杰倫) also attended the event as a special guest performer and spoke candidly about his views on music, and his upcoming wedding.
While singing “What Kind of Man Are You” <算什麼男人>, Jay shared how nervous he felt when performing the new song. He said his nervousness was a result of being less familiar with the song, and it reminded him of how he felt 14 years ago as a newcomer in the music industry.
As he started singing one of his older songs, Jay appeared more confident. Sitting at the piano, Jay reflected aloud, “It is very important for a newcomer to overcome his nerves. I think the best way to do that is to start playing an instrument. I would like to encourage young people to learn and practice musical instruments.”
Jay also happily spoke about his January wedding to Hannah Quinlivan (昆凌), “My greatest dream is to have a happy family. As 2015 [is here], I am also getting closer to my dream. Even though I grew up in a single family, I can already experience what it feels like to be in a happy family. As my identity changes to that of a husband, then a father, I believe my compositions will also change in terms of style and content.”
Having just released his latest album, Jay also expressed his views on the prevailing issues in the music industry, “It is harder to be a musician now as there are fewer people who buy albums. But I believe most musicians are in it not for the fame nor money, but to to be able to express their creativity.”

This couple is growing on me despite the age gap. Admittedly they look very good together.
