Linda Chung Wants to Form a “Virgin” Band
Numerous TVB fadans have attempted to break into the music industry in the past, but with four successful albums already under her belt, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) may possibly be the most successful of them all.
“I have been a singer for 4 years,” said Linda. “I’ve saved up to over 40 songs, and I still haven’t had the chance to perform at my own concert. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that in 2013!”
Linda expressed that she wants to hold her mini-concert in the Star Hall, a 3,600-seat venue located in the Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centerz. “It is not too small and not too big. It allows me to be in close contact with the fans!”
A source close to Linda revealed that Linda’s label, Stars Shine International, is already prepping up a concert for Linda in March 2013. The insider said, “She is now using her sleeping time to jog or swim instead, to improve her physical condition, and to prepare for her upcoming show in March!”
Linda is currently filming for upcoming TVB drama, Brother’s Keeper <巨輪>, costarring Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) and Edwin Siu (蕭正楠). She is also busy doing promotions for TVB drama Missing You <幸福摩天輪>, which is currently airing on TVB Jade.
Regarding Linda’s rumored March concert, Stars Shine International CEO, Herman Ho (何哲圖), did not deny the rumor and stated, “We still have to wait until Linda completes her filming in February. The costumes, the stage, and other details are still unconfirmed. We do not know if we will invite other female artists as guest performers yet. Right now, we are working out a schedule with TVB. Hopefully a 2013 concert will come true!”
With the support of both TVB and Stars Shine International, Linda will be able to hold her first solo concert in no time! However, holding a concert is the not the only thing Linda had in mind.
Face Magazine reported that Linda had earlier sent in a memo to Herman Ho, requesting if she could form a band with four other TVB fadans – Leanne Li (李亞男), Grace Wong (王君馨), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), and Eliza Sam (岑麗香). The five best friends are known for their “virgin” statuses within the TVB family.
Leanne and Grace were previously featured as dancers in Linda’s music video, “Call You When I’m Free” <得閒找你>, in 2011. At the time, Leanne and Grace had already thought of working on a new single with Linda.
Christine has recently expressed an interest in forming the a band with Linda. She said, “I do want to form a band with them. Leanne can play the guitar, I can play the keyboard, and Grace can do the singing and dancing. We can get Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) to write a song for us too!”
Eliza immediately nodded her head in reply, “I used to listen to Spice Girls when I was younger. I once dreamed to be in a band. We can seriously consider this!”

u know, sometimes i think it might be the HK media that’s giving such a stupid headline b/c even if they are or not, why would they give themselves a label like that. insanity, HK media sometimes does everything in exaggerated ways just to boost up sales.
It is the media giving them that headline and only 2 of them have talked about being a virgin- Leanne and Grace. The other 3 did not comment when asked and was just assumed to be because I think they’re all pretty religious?

Hopefully the report is untrue or else it certainly will lead to uncountable criticisms as I, too, think that the name “Virgin” is not a very good idea. Smacks of self- righteousness and exclusiveness.

Sorry to be mean, but besides Linda, the other 4 of them are “kelefes”. Sure, they all have the looks…but to form a band, they need much more talent. The “best” singer out of the 5 is probably Linda, but I still wouldn’t call her a good singer. I know Grace Wong is a talented dancer though. And that’s it…what do they have to show people? 3 of them also can’t speak Cantonese properly. Please let the resources be spent on ones with real musical talent.

Who knows maybe the “5 virgins” band will release same song or use the title “Virgin” as 1st single…Maybe they be successful like “Spice Girls”
I know being judgemental before they even begin this ‘Virgin Band’ is pretty slack, but seriously…most of the young singers in HK don’t seem to make it big being solo artists, not to mention the girl bands that already exist. I don’t see how this idea is going to spring to life, it may just end up as a big flop imo.

Not sure if Eliza has any musical talent, but she might be able to dance and sing. It doesn’t matter if she can sing well, because Linda or Grace can cover her with better Cantonese. Christine has some musical experience and performed the flute in the pageant, but she has a problem with dancing fast.

Take away the ‘virginity’ aspect of the band, not a convincing selling point. She might just said, forming a five all-girl band. Why mention virginity,TMI.

You know I had respect for her when she rejected going with dinner dates with businessman but this is a really stupid idea, no offence. I like her personality, but not her acting or singing, I cringe at the idea of a concert, but then again, anyone can hold concert with the lack of talent in hk showbiz as long as u have a strong backing.

I agree. Her voice is too weak and breathy for a singer, which seriously limits the types of songs she can sing. And her songs are so boring. The only song I liked is “Actually I’m Not Happy,” and sadly, Ava sang that song better in a cover than Linda!

This is all TVB’s fault they wanted to increase the MV of their so-called goddesses and came up with this wonderful idea.
I.e rape their artists in every TV series in order to attract viewers and later on sell their rare TVB virgins at a high price.

So it’s just a mini-concert? Lolz, I did thought it’s a concert and wondered how Linda can sing more than 30 songs live. But with a mini concert, she only needs to sing 10-15 songs and it’s her top.
How long is a mini concert vs a full concert?
A mini concert will have 10-15 songs of this singer only, with guests’ performance the number of songs will reach to 15-20.
In a concert a singer must sing about 30-35 songs, with guests the number is around 35-40 something.
A mini concert normally 1.5h and a concert is 3h or longer.
And their 1st song will be doing a cover for Madonna’s ‘Like a Virgin’ using auto-tune.
