100 Artists Attend Virginia Lok’s Birthday Party

TVB executive, Virginia Lok (樂易玲) held her 54th birthday party on June 27, partying it up with nearly 100 celebrities at a nightclub venue in Central, Hong Kong.

The no-gift birthday party was attended by numerous TVB stars, including Nat Chan (陳百祥), Michael Tse (謝天華), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), Kristal Tin (田蕊妮), Selena Li (李詩韻), Oceane Zhu (朱璇), Angela Tong (湯盈盈), Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍), Leanne Li (李亞男),Timmy Hung (洪天明), Janet Chow (周家蔚), Oscar Leung (梁烈唯), Eliza Sam (岑麗香), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), Ngo Ka Nin (敖嘉年), Lin Xiawei (林夏薇), Grace Wong (王君馨), Sammy Sum (沈震軒), and more, arriving at the party at different hours of the night.

Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), who has been shooting Lee Tim Sing’s (李添勝) No Reserve <巾幗梟雄之諜血長天> in Qingyuan, China in the last few weeks, took a night’s leave to attend Ms. Lok’s birthday bash. Myolie arrived at the party separately from ex-boyfriend Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) in order to avoid the media. Former TVB managed stars Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Joe Ma (馬德鐘) also brought along their group of friends to the party. Ms. Lok’s “favorite son” Raymond Lam (林峯), however, did not show up that night.

At the party, Charmaine told the press that she is excited to see many of her former colleagues coming together in one big gathering. With her career currently based in mainland China, Charmaine revealed that she is currently living in Hong Kong, only returning to mainland China once in a while to shoot commercials. Asked if she is currently shooting a new drama as well, Charmaine expressed that mainland China is “too hot right now. Not a very good time to shoot a new drama.”

Joe Ma’s wife Karen Cheung (張筱蘭), who reportedly had a rift with Ms. Lok, was not seen at the party. The discord rumors began last year when Karen blasted Ms. Lok on her Weibo, claiming that she and TVB had been mistreating Joe. At the party, Ms. Lok, commented, “Joe has iron feet. Nothing happened between his wife and I.”

Joe responded, “[The rumors] are old talk! I’m shooting Tiger Cubs 2 <飛虎II> now. If there are good scripts available, I don’t mind shooting five dramas for TVB every year.”

TVB’s big boss Charles Chan (陳國強), nowTV executive Ho Lai Chuen (何麗全), filmmaker Alfred Cheung (張堅庭), and Sun Entertainment producer Paco Wong (黃柏高) were also present at the star-studded birthday event. Miriam Yeung’s (楊千嬅) husband, Real Ting (丁子高), was also invited to the party.

Ron Ng’s reported girlfriend, Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲宵 II> costar Kelly Fu (傅嘉莉) also attended the party and showed up in a little black dress that revealed her back. She and Ron arrived at the party separately.

Ms. Lok said afterwards, “July 1 is my real birthday, but we decided to hold the party earlier. I am so honored to be seeing so many of my friends and colleagues throwing a birthday party for me. I must repay them, so I told them that it’s a no-gift party!”
