For the past two years, Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) has been named the “Sexiest Man Alive in China” at JayneStars.com. Will Ruco continue to dominate the title for a third year in a row? With a total of 90 nominees from Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan, you will be certain to find a sexy man to support every day!
Voting Rules
- Press “VOTE” button next to the name of the male celebrity of your choice. You will receive a confirmation message on screen indicating your vote has been tabulated.
- Each person can place ONE vote per 24 hours. The voting cycle is exactly 24 hours; if you try to place vote even one minute before the full 24 hours voting cycle, you will not be able to do so.
- You can vote everyday for a different candidate.

JayneStars.com’s 8-member Nomination Committee (consisting of our news writers and Advisory Committee members) drafted a preliminary list of male celebrities for the “2013 Sexiest Man Alive in China Award.” Only the male celebrities that were approved by at least 4 of our Nomination Committee members were included in the final poll, ensuring only the hottest men!

Too everyone who are not satisfied with the photos chosen.
I was involved with the task of gathering photos for all the previous polls. This time, I was not free to do so. So, Jayne gathered most of the pictures in a short time herself. It’s not an easy task.
We couldn’t be familiar with all the actors in the poll equally. So, we wouldn’t know the most recent look of all actors. But, we tried our best.
When I did the gathering, I have no idea who some of the candidates on the poll were. I only know how he looks like after I googled for his picture. I always try to choose the pictures that look recent (and must also make the actor looks good), but, I wouldn’t always get it right. Jayne might know all the actors in the poll, but, I’m sure she couldn’t know all their recent look.
PS: Not meaning to offend anyone. I just want to say something for Jayne.
But for the last 2 years there were old photos too like the old Raymond Lam Photo and Ron Ng and others too.

Well maybe because of Edisons bad image/news it makes him look like that. I find Edison better looking than Ruco by a lot but its the things Edison do that makes me not like him.

i had a good look at the nominees today. My comment: most do not look like men, more like pretty boys and many have unnatural Caucasian features like high nose bridge and double eyelids; especially true of the Taiwanese men. They all look like they had too much plastic surgery. At least most of the HK nominees look manly and have a more natural look. But i think Jaynestars shld update the pics. Some of the pics are from many years ago. For example Alex Fong and Andy Lau have aged a lot and look like nothing in those pics now.
i completely agree with u, some of these people shouldnt be here, secy doesnt mean the pretty boy look like wu chun and some fo the other, and the oldies shud be cut out

believe it or not, there are Chinese who were born with double lids and high noses. Not all resorted to plastic surgery.
of course not all Chinese or Asians have flat noses but it’s not natural when it’s so high like Caucasian type. It’s just not in Asian genes, unless these people have some Caucasian lineage in them.
China is a big country. The gene pool is very big. I think those Chinese near Russia part will have more Caucasian features.
Beside genes, what food a person consume while growing up will also affect his/her look. With globalization and easy transport nowadays, the food diet of people today is very different from a century ago.

@Kidd i agree with the genes part but food? Do you mean it’ll affect height? If yes, i agree to a certain extent but again how tall you are is still determined by your genes. Food will not determine your looks as in facial features. It’s possible that some of these actors may have Caucasian blood somewhere down the line but not likely that all of them have it. So my guess wld be that some had help from the plastic surgeon. Again i think that some of these “sexy” men candidates look more like pretty boys.
I agree with you Oscar because my mom is a nose person and always notices the nose first. If you are 100% Asian, you can have a high nose but it is nothing like the Caucasian type of a high nose. I had a friend that has a really nice and high nose but it was because she had European blood in her.
I also heard from one of my classmates who is really into this stuff say that the people from Northern China have lighter skin, higher noses and sharper features. But the people from the southern regions would have darker skin, flatter noses and less sharper features. Of course that is just in general and it will vary from person to person. I have seen people who have double eyelids, high noses,etc.. and they are natural.
I also do not agree about food playing a part in determining the features on your face. Maybe it may affect your and overall complexion,but facial features? I find that hard to believe.

If food can affect how tall one grow and how muscular one become, why couldn’t it affect the facial feature as well? Facial feature is also made up of bones and muscles.
It may not have much effect much if one has grown pass puberty, but, during growing up stage and while one is still in the mother’s womb, diet have great effect because different diet has different nutrients and different nutrients affect the body differently.
Diet plays a part in how your body develops. That is a fact. Also life style choices. For example if you exercise, you’ll get better body build. But diet cannot alter a person’s look. If you’re born with flat nose and single eyelids, no way can you get high nose and double eyelids from your diet. It’s in the genes, just like how tall you eventually grow into as an adult is already predetermined at birth. If you exercise a lot for eg, you may grow to the max height dictated by your genes, nothing more than that. It’s like a daschund cannot possibly grow into a doberman, no matter what you feed it. Bone structures don’t change too.

What about when the baby is still in the mother’s womb? He is not born yet and everything still forming. The diet of the mother will have affect on how his feature will developed. I’m not saying that diet will totally override genes or a bigger factor than genes, but, it will have an effect.

KIDD How come some people have like double eyelid one day and then like 1 eyelid author sometimes 1 eyelid on one eye and double eyelid on the other eyes?
Double eyelids can be natural as in when I was younger I had single eyelid but as I grow older I have double eyelids and I swear I did not go under the knife.
Agree with oscar. While some (very few actually) are of mixed race on the above list, majority of them have unnatural Caucasian features. More importantly, I don’t think majority of them have caucasian blood somewhere down the line considering intermarriage was illegal 60 years ago.
Who says that an eurasian = high nose bridge + double eyelids? I have seen many eurasians, and majority of them are more to asian features since asian genes are genetically stronger. For example, raymond lam’s grandma is latino, but he looks very chinese to me even after he had PS (and I mean VERY VERY chinese). A full chinese person, like daniel wu, has caucasian features even though it looks unnatural to me.

Actually, his great-great-grandma is spanish instead of his grandma. He is actually 1/6 spanish even though he looks more chinese than majority of chinese themselves.
As for other TVB siu sangs, all of them are 100% chinese.

I do. Not think intermarriage is illegal at all. Ning Jing was married to an American actor while Nicky’s ex Ma ya Shu is married to an Australian. I do not think the government has the right to prohibit interracial marriage.

What Funn said and also not enough sleep. It happens to me. I usually have double eyelids, but, when deprave of sleep for many nights, one of my eyes grow a triple eyelids.:P
Another explanation can be that the person actually has double eyelids, but, it’s not obvious, kinda hidden. So, sometimes it shows, sometime it doesn’t.

Kidd, as a doctor, diet can have an effect on the baby’s weight and health, but not how wide, big or flat the baby’s nose is going to be. Oscar is right. The nose structure has everything to d with genetic and nothing to do with diet.
