Roger Kwok is 50, Fit, and Fabulous

It is hard to believe that Roger Kwok (郭晉安) has been in the industry for 28 years. Sporting long shaggy hair and facial hair in Come On, Cousin <老表,你好hea!>, Roger’s youthful spirit easily shines through despite being 50 years old.

Proper Exercise and Lean Diet

Roger attributes his youthfulness to a proper balance between a well-maintained diet and daily exercise. “Thai boxing and tennis are my main exercise. In terms of diet – it consists of less oil, less sugar, and less sodium. When I’m working in Hong Kong, I don’t have a choice but to eat takeout.

“When I’m off work at home, I have a strict diet. For breakfast, I eat four servings of egg whites, a plate of vegetables that has little oil and salt, along with a bowl of rice – it’s like what the Japanese would eat for breakfast. For lunch, I eat pork, steak, lean meat, or fish. Dinner is simpler – I cut the intake in half. I also take a lot of health supplements and vitamins. I’ve maintained this diet for five years now. When I’m filming in China, the food there is very oily and that’s why I only eat plain vegetables, rice, and eggs.”

Maintaining Stress-free Lifestyle

Besides abiding by a healthy meal plan, Roger stressed the importance of remaining carefree and being forgiving. Roger believes the key to being stress free is to never complain and hold a grudge against a particular situation or person.

He maintains the same mentality when he is at home with his children. Arguments with his wife, Cindy Au (歐倩怡) or his elder son may be inevitable, but Roger believes that communication is crucial. Roger admitted he would become overly angry and scold his son sometimes, but will quickly calm down to discuss the situation to make sure his son learns a proper lesson.

      1. Agreed Raymond is more youthful but both of these guys are the definition of Asian people don’t age.

  1. I disagree, yeah he used to look youthful when he turned 40, but as he hit 50, he looks a bit haggard, but still look great for a 50 year old! 🙂

    1. He is 50 so what can we all expect? He looks good for his age but I would not say he looks youthful. I saw some photos where his face was all wrinkly but at least he is aging naturally which is a good thing.

      1. His botox/filler probably worn off and no time to top up, hence looked wrinkly in some pics. But i must say he looks good in Come on cousin.

  2. Damn a lot of man artists look mad young, I was so mind blown when I found out their actual age

  3. I agree Roger still look but makeup has a bigger part in it once it comes off then u will know the diffrence

    1. Yes,make up really does wonders as people look day and night without it,

  4. Raymond Cho and Roger must have shared their secret with each other that is why they both look so much younger than their actual age!

  5. He looks like how he looked like when he debuted. He looks youthful but his skin is very wrinkly so in person he looks his age.

Size wise this man never gained a pound I tell ya,

    Raymond Cho looks great.

  6. He looks great at 50! Definitely still charming in Come On, Cousin. I agree that maintaining a carefree attitude will help. He always seems so happy and constantly smiling/laughing which seems to help in his anti-aging haha!

  7. Both Roger and Raymond looks great!!! Asian really does age well! Love them both!

  8. can i ask what was the name of the song in ‘come on cousin’ episode 23 17:4

    1. @ww: You’re talking about the song that Mario, Ah Shuet, and that crazy guy sang when they were being held captive at the market, right? The song is called 難為正邪定分界. It’s an old classic from 1982 and is originally sung by Johnny Yip (葉振棠). There are actually multiple versions of this song, with the most famous one as a duet sung by Johnny Yip and 麥志諴 , since that was the version used as the theme song to TVB’s 1982 series “You Only Live Twice” (yes, that’s THE series that sparked the romance between the series’ leads Michael Miu and Jamie Chik).

    1. @ww: Episode 23’s ending credits song is 活著便精彩 — the original song is from 1996 and is sung by Beyond (Paul Wong composed the song and wrote the lyrics to the original version).

  9. I never knew Raymond Chow was 50, (looked it up – 49 to be precise).

Because he got married fairly recently, and his kids are so young.

Agree though that between Roger and Raymond, Raymond definitely looks younger.

Roger has a middle agey-ish look to him (compared to Raymond) and Roger’s skin also looks papery – skin which is more prone to wrinkles.

Just a bystander observation = fan of neither.
