Aimee Chan: “Acting is My Love”
Taking a break from caring for her son, Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) to attend a function for a health foods research company. Since giving birth in December, the 33-year-old TVB actress has been taking a hiatus from her acting career to care for her seven month-old son, Aiden Joshua Chan (陳梓燁).
Aimee shared that Aiden has begun eating solid food. She is very cautious when it comes to feeding him. “It’s going into his stomach after all, and it’s his first time eating actual food. Kids do not digest food as well as adults, so I have to be extra careful. I’m also afraid that he might be allergic to some foods, and he won’t be able to communicate that to us, so we have to take things step by step.” Before feeding Aiden, Aimee would always try the food herself first.
Asked if Aimee has had any “failed” food tests, she said, “Yes! Aiden hates avocados! I really like avocados myself. I would eat one every day, but he doesn’t seem to like it.” Fortunately, Aiden does not have any known food allergies yet.
Will Aimee let other people feed Aiden? “I think it’s good to that,” she said. “It’s beneficial for babies as young as Aiden to meet more people so he can learn to not be afraid of strangers and not be too shy. It’s good for his development.”
On the topic about eating healthful foods, Aimee said it is critical for everyone to be very meticulous about what they eat to prevent toxins from entering the body. “If our bodies just keep accumulating toxins, we’re going to eventually get poisoned to death! Just as kids, adults should also be very careful.”
Aimee: “I Love Acting”
Still on an acting break, Aimee was asked if she has plans to return to television soon. “I really want to return soon! I love acting. Aiden is seven months old now, so I want to focus on him first. I was in talks to do a few projects, but I don’t think it’s the right time for them now.”
Asked if she had turned down Lord of Shanghai <梟雄>, which stars Anthony Wong (黃秋生),Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), and Kent Tong (湯鎮業), Aimee revealed that she had discussed participating in the drama and has not turned down the project yet. “I don’t really turn down projects because I just really love acting. However, it really depends on the timing.”
Would Aimee be returning to the small screen next year? “I’m thinking about it, but [either Moses or I] has to be home to take care of Aiden. We’ll plan out our schedules.”

To be honest she does not have the guanzhong yuan. Really dunno why tvb wants to promote her like mad.

I don’t think her acting is that great, but I find that her bubbly and carefree personality makes her onscreen performances more watchable than it would otherwise be if she didn’t have a likable personality. I think that makes her stand out to me out of the ‘newbies’, although people seem to find her annoying. I hope that her acting does improve with time if/when she starts starring in dramas again.

Gale, so far you are only one of the few who has positive views on Aimee and I agree with you. I do find her very ‘watchable’ and she is not a fake. I can almost see that she really enjoys acting and that’s important.

yes I agree!! I don’t like her in the past but somehow I prefer watching her than Kate!! But I did enjoy outbound love!! The last two drama she appear on this year is actually one of the few drama I really enjoy!! Keeps up the good work Aimee!!
Though Aimee’s acting is still quite green, I also prefer watching her than Kate Tsui. I can’t stand Kate’s extra long fake eye-lashes. She always likes to blink her eyes slowly showing her long eye-lashes in her drama series. Instead of improving, I think Kate’s acting is getting worse because she only cares about her images.
Liking something is one thing but being good at it or not is a different story but it is not only her because there are many actors and actresses that do not act well at all but yet they are successful whether it be luck,timing,connections,etc… Those are all of the factors needed to succeed in any field.
I can see that she’s really a good mother. She’s that kind of mother I want to be when I have my own children. She’s willing to stay at home and take care of her son, which I think every parents should do. Like she said, either she or Moses has to stay at home with their son, both cannot work at the same time, and it’s something I really agree with her. I think every kid want to be with their parents. Of course both cannot be at home at the same time, because someone musts work for the income. I think Aimee and Moses really make their role as parents perfectly fine. I’m looking forward to see Aimee coming back to work. I really enjoy her acting. I love to watch her dramas and I believe she will improve and become even better in the future.

Ignorance but cute. Just because the parents have no food allergy doesn’t mean the child is allergy proof. Case #1 – my hubby and i – no allergies, baby allergic to eggs. Case #2, best friend – no allergies in family, son allergic to peanut. case #3, cousin – allergic to shellfish, daughter has no known allergies.
