“Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow” Releases First Teaser
South Korean drama Alchemy of Souls is returning with its second season next month and fans are looking forward to get answers on the unresolved plot lines.
In Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, Lee Jae Wook reprises his role as a young master but season 1’s leading actress Jung So Min has taken a backseat. In her place, Go Yoon Jung who made a guest appearance in the first season, will be playing the assassin mage whose soul is trapped in a servant’s body.
Ahead of the drama’s release, a trailer is dropped to give fans a glimpse of what to expect. Fans are immediately drawn to a mysterious woman with long hair sitting on a table. While her face is not shown, the woman is assumed to have her soul switched due to the petrified marking on her hand. In addition, hawkeyed netizens pointed out that the woman could be Go Yoon Jung because she is wearing a similar outfit to the one that was shown in Season 1’s post-credit trailer.
The trailer has a darker tone and Lee Jae Wook’s character can be resurrecting from the ashes. Holding an intense glare, Lee Jae Wook narrates, “I should have died back then. I shouldn’t exist. If my strength is real, no one will leave here alive.”
The drama will be directed by Park Joon Ho known for his work in What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and will be helmed by scriptwriter duo The Hong Sister whose previous works include Hotel Del Luna.
Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow is expected to premiere on December 10th and will have 10 episodes.
