Alex Fong Announces Marriage to Maple Yip
Valentine’s Day was extra sweet for Alex Fong (方力申), who announced his marriage to his girlfriend of two years, Maple Yip (葉萱). Despite their 14-year age gap, the couple was able to find common ground and compatibility.
Sharing a photo of Maple in a simple white dress and himself in a pink suit, Alex wrote, “We got married here. Wishing everyone a happy Valentine’s Day. #itsawonderfonglife.” From the photos, netizens suspect that Alex proposed at Santa Monica Pier. In addition to having a photographer ready to capture the precious moment, Alex also prepared a witness, and the couple got married immediately on the spot.
After ending a 10-year relationship with fellow artiste, Stephy Tang (鄧麗欣), Alex finally found love again when he admitted to being in a relationship with Maple in 2023. When Maple appeared in Netflix documentary, In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal, and admitted to being a victim of cult leader Jung Myung Seok, Alex stood by Maple’s side and supported her. Having withstood through trials side-by-side, their relationship only grew stronger.
Previously, Alex dropped hints about impending marriage plans. Alex revealed that a fortune teller had advised him to get married within the next three years or be at risk of never being able to marry at all. With that in mind, Alex decided he would definitely marry within three years. Holding true to this sentiment, Alex tied the knot one year later on Valentine’s Day.

For those netizens saying if she did not have all that trauma, would she marry someone 14 years older at her prime. And not to mention the male is always circulated by playboy roomers. Here is how I see it: they met each other at the right time. If Alex did not have all that time to play the field, he would not be ready to settle right now. Had Alex met Maple sooner, she was probably not ready to break away from the cult then. My full empathy goes out to her is the more important part of the message.
