Ali Lee Plans on Releasing Book

Ali Lee (李佳芯) attended a community event recently where she helped pass out surgical masks to Hong Kongers. Ali noted that it has been a long time since she has had an event, “I think I haven’t attended one since Lunar New Year. Coincidentally, I don’t have any dramas to film at the moment. This is not a bad situation because at one point, I didn’t have enough surgical masks so I’ve been staying home most of the time. Right now, I only have one box of masks left.”

During this time, she has been working on her cooking skills and is no longer the “chef from hell”! Ali said, “Now I can cook a full meal of three dishes and soup too! As long as I can find the recipe online, I am confident I can cook it. My family and boyfriend have tried my cooking and they finished everything. But my cooking isn’t as good as my dessert skills. I make a really good steamed egg custard. I don’t order this at dessert shops anymore because I feel that my version is even better!” Her father has also taught her how to make sweet green bean soup, and it is now in her arsenal of desserts she is confident in making.

With her extra time at home, Ali has been writing a book in preparation for this year’s Hong Kong Book Fair. The book is a collection of short stories and not a photobook, as Ali is afraid that no one would buy that! “This has always been my goal. I used to tell myself that I would write a book after 30 because I felt that this was an age where I would have accumulated enough life experience worth writing about. Now that I have all this free time, it feels like everything is falling into place.”

As for filming dramas, Ali predicts the earliest this will take place is at the end of the year as she heard rumors that the sequel to The Big White Duel <白色強人> will start filming then.
