Ariel Lin Graduates with a Masters in Acting
Ariel Lin (林依晨) recently attended the graduation ceremony for her masters in acting, which she obtained from an university in England. She shared tidbits of her marriage life, as well as her experience pursuing her masters degree.
As her doting fiance Charles Lin (林于超) accompanied her on the trip, Ariel’s fans remarked that he shared a close resemblance to Hong Kong actor Nick Cheung (張家輝). Ariel laughed and said, “He does not think he looks like Nick, but both my agent and I agree with the fans’ conclusion.”
Ariel added that she occasionally drinks with Charles at home, but she is an extremely light drinker. On the other hand, Charles can hold alcohol very well. She said, “My dad likes Charles because he is a good drinker.” Ariel said that Charles also had good taste in wine. Ariel further revealed that Charles often gives the impression of being sober when he is in fact drunk, “I only found out because I would realize the next day that he absolutely has no memory of what we said the day before. I realized that when he is drunk, he likes to deny being drunk.”
On her thoughts about graduation, Ariel admitted that she felt a little uneasy about the masters degree. During the year in which she was enrolled in the program, she had to frequently fly to Taiwan and China for work engagements. Nevertheless, she managed to fulfill the minimum attendance requirement, and satisfactorily complete her thesis as well as coursework. Thus, she qualified for graduation at the end of the year.
Ariel expressed that it was a big relief to have completed her masters degree, as she no longer has to worry about being recognized at the university. She said happily, “I have been very successful at keeping my profile low, as some of the students only found out that I attended the same school as them on the day of graduation!”
Ariel will be holding her wedding banquet with Charles on December 24, and will subsequently participate in a film. She added that she and Charles will spend the Lunar New Year holiday in Taiwan, and her choice of future filming engagements will depend on the quality of the scripts.

according to wiki, it’s Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, which i’ve never heard of, but as it’s part of university of london, it should be a worthy establishment.
Nick Cheung (張家輝)? Are you kidding? He does look a bit autistic based on the pics. Come on, he does not resemble the actor in any way.

Of course not but its nice she continued with her education.
You dont need master degree in order to act well. The degree is just simply to show that you actually graduated from college and are well-educated. Peopke might look at u differently with respect.
I would think ppl will look at you with more respect if you graduated with a Masters in something else rather than acting?
She’s an actress. What do you expect her to study? If Master degree in acting is less important than other MDs, then why the UC even bother to offer this program to students? It’s not easy to obtain an MD regardless of what area you’re in. Efforts must be made. At least, Ariel graduated with a degree better than some actors who have never gone or graduated from college. Drop-outs won’t count.
PANDA, I think that is a very pertinent question asked by you. I was also thinking along those lines as there are so many questionable so called ‘universities’ these days and I hear that one can buy certificates for a fee enabling him/her to get a degree.
She probably went to a private university where there schedules are more flexible, in some countries, you can complete your entire Master degree online. But huge congrats to Ariel and hope she has a blissful marriage life with her soon-to-be-husband.

unlike your biased conclusion, she’s a very low-profile person but a very popular actress.
I dont see how low profile she is if she had such a star-studded engagement party earlier on.

If the university she went to is a part of London University than I reserve my previous statement and congratulate Ariel on getting her Master’s.
Just for the record, the Central Royal School of Speech and Drama is a well established and reputable institution that counts the like of Sir Laurence Olivier, Harold Pinter (Nobel Laureate writer), among its alumni.
It became a part of the University of London system in 2005.
It’s pretty sad she couldn’t say anything nice or good about her fiancé. Her dad likes him because he can drink? Come on man!

I mostly read, but i applaud you on getting the Master within just 1 year :)Thesis is not that easy as many think, you need at least 30 pages minimum, and research etc…. & She had to attend other career relate too
