“Backstreet Rookie” Ends With a High Note
After a rough start, Korean romantic comedy series Backstreet Rookie is finally ending with a good note.
Starring Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung, Backstreet Rookie ended Saturday with the highest ratings it has achieved since debut, raking in a nationwide rating of 6.3 percent and peaked at 11.5 percent, a personal highest and significant jump from its previous episodes, which were some of the series’ lowest-rated episodes.
Backstreet Rookie is Ji Chang Wook’s first drama series since his return from the army. It is based on a webtoon, which is about a convenience store worker falling in love with his spunky younger co-worker.
Backstreet Rookie has topped the charts for most-watched weekend miniseries for eight straight weeks.

I enjoyed watching this drama, both main actor & actress are my favorites. All the cast played their part well in this show. There were happy & sad episodes which is good. At some point when it shows that his family are very good supporters of the well being of his son. Keeping a secret what they did for their son was very heartwarming & the love they shown for son. I am glad that it had a happy ending. Good chemistry for both main stars. Hope to see more of them together on future shows.
@judy I was hesitant at first since the last JCW drama kinda flopped. Guess I will check this out.
