Bai Lu and Dylan Wang Pair in Sweet Romance
Slated to start filming in mid-November, book to TV adaptation Accidental Love (tentatively named) <錯撩> narrates the romantic conflicts of a top financial journalist and cold, overbearing male protagonist, with leads rumored to be Bai Lu (白鹿) and rising actor Dylan Wang (王鶴棣)!
Dylan’s Post Catches Production Crew’s Eyes
The plot centers on a financial magazine journalist Zheng Shuyi (Bai Lu) whose boyfriend, also her first love, cheats on her just as her career takes flight. Unhappy in love, she wills to succeed in her career but realizes an interview candidate Shi Yan (Dylan Wang), CEO of a company is actually the uncle of the woman who is now with her ex-boyfriend.
While official word on the cast has yet to be released, Dylan Wang’s management team confirmed his participation in a midnight post update, and revealed that the production crew had got in touch in July. According to the team, one of Dylan’s social posts inviting his fan’ opinions for recommended novels with an overbearing male lead had caught the production crew’s attention, as one of the works discussed happened to be Accidental Love.
Formerly crossing paths on variety programs, this is the pair’s first drama collaboration, helmed by a strong production team that includes director Guo Hu (郭虎), who was behind One and Only <周生如故> and Immortal Samsara <沉香如屑‧沉香重華> while scriptwriter Yang Qianzi (楊千紫) had anchored The Legends <招搖> and Princess of Lanling King <蘭陵王妃>.
Controversy Over “First Lead”
Rising up the ranks of hot young male actors with his role as a powerful demon in Love Between Fairy and Devil (蒼蘭訣), Dylan Wang’s fans were displeased when rumors started going round that their idol will play second fiddle to Bai Lu’s first lead in Accidental Love. As they took to protest against the production team and the actor’s management team, the uproar was so huge that Bai Lu’s manager Yu Zheng (于正) publicly responded that he would “never stoop as low as snatching casting positions!”
