Benny Chan and Wife Deny Divorce Rumors

Yesterday, Chinese media reported that Benny Chan (陳浩民) and his wife Lisa Jiang (蔣麗莎) were separating, after she was angered by his infidelity. The actor allegedly told Lisa he would be filming during the National Day holidays but was said to have gone elsewhere instead and cheated on her. As the gossip swirled, the couple rushed to clarify that their marriage is still going strong.

Although they were busy dying their hair at a salon, Benny and Lisa  held a live stream on Douyin. Full of smiles, Benny appeared to feed his wife during the session. He expressed that he looks like a player, but is actually a very loyal person. He said has never argued with Lisa. Even when they have emotional discussions, he would always love her.

Lisa trusts Benny completely and proclaims that he will not be “the next Evan Li Yifeng (李易峰),” referring to the fallen latter getting detained for soliciting prostitution. Benny also feels that the act of soliciting prostitutes is morally incorrect, even if they were paid for their services.

Lisa expressed that she and Benny are “not very important figures” and urged everyone to pay more attention to China’s development rather than their marriage. “Please do not believe the rumors–there is no disagreement between us. They were just fabricating things, so there is nothing to clarify. I hope that our lives are happy and stable.”

While rumors of Benny’s cheating are affecting their lives, Benny and Lisa do not intend to sue the Weibo account that started the story as monetary compensation will be low anyway. Their management company will follow up on the issue.
