Bosco Wong’s Mustache Frowned Upon By Kate Tsui

TVB’s new drama, Lives of Omission <潜行狙击>, premiered on August 1st. The cast and crew of the drama attended a promotional event on July 31st. The attendees included Michael Tse (谢天华), Bosco Wong (黄宗泽), Kate Tsui (徐子珊), Fala Chen (陈法拉),Damian Lau (刘松仁), Jin Au-Yeung (欧阳靖), Mandy Wong (黄智雯), Elena Kong (江美仪) and others. The entire cast striked different poses  with the fake toy guns, while singing and dancing on stage.

Bosco and Kate, who acted as a couple in this series, couldn’t stop “taking stabs” at each other. Kate laughed and pointed out that because of not letting another TVB drama differ too much in scenes, Bosco had to keep his mustache during their filming thus during intimate scenes, she was often painfully poked by his mustache.

Kate also laughed and said, “Bosco’s girlfriend didn’t mind it (his mustache) at all so of course I don’t have the eligibility to say.” Bosco immediately went embarrassed and broached to another subject that Michael Tse looked the most “chok” in their drama.

Bosco implied that he was beginning to see the benefits that the advanced Internet technology had to offer. Because of the attention that the netizens brought to this drama, even before the series premiered, they had already received a tremendous amount of support.

Michael Tse was the centralized character of this series as it portrayed the happenings after he returned back to the police station after his undercover assignment. Many people praised that he was as “chok” as Raymond Lam (林峰) in the series.

In response to this, Michael remarked that in the past, all the famous singers had the same trademark “chok” look. It remains the same way even until now, thus he felt that there was no problem in looking “chok” however he laughed and said he wasn’t as “chok” as Raymond.

  1. I don’t really like the mustache either. Makes him look way older.

  2. If “Lives of Omission” has good ratings results, I think Michael Tse has a good chance to win Best Actor this year.

The closest contender would be Steven Ma. Although he is a good actor, if The Life and Times of a Sentinel does not have high ratings, this will likely decrease his chances of winning.

Kevin Cheng has already won, so I don’t think TVB would feel the need to give him the award to push him higher.

Wayne Lai will likely not win for Forensic Heroes, since his victories over the last two years are still too fresh.

    1. Michael Tse is overrated! My brother watch this show now and said he don’t stand out as much as he did as in EU and he choks most of the time! I’m not Kevin fan but he stood out in GJ a lot!

      1. Kevin is more eligible to win. Michael Tse acting never improve and overrated.

      2. My brother is a Laughing fan but he likes Laughing in EU more than Laughing in LOO. He said Laughing in LOO is turning into idol route.

      3. I believe I’ve seen you slamming Michael Tse on these boards, why’m I totally not surprised to see you at it again… Anyway, from the response the series is getting on weibo, waaaaay more people than not think he’s doing great and are enjoying his multi-layered portrayal as Laughing Sir very much.

      4. Oh please there are many smitten fans in weibo. They even love Bosco, Fala, and Kate’s potrayals too ROFL

      5. Nvm, insiders in newspapers said Laughing might get Best Actor this year. Now you’ll be happy 😀

      6. Congrats Laughing, for your TVB Best Actor Award. You have many die hard fans idolizing you now.

  3. Yeah, this drama is getting a hot attention from netizens; particularly among Sina weibo-ers. The views on PPTV and PPS in mainland are increasing positively.

The producer has also done detailed interviews about the drama with a couple of mainland newspapers. Is this TBB’s new direction?

    1. Lol, I don’t get what’s the big deal about this drama. Maybe I’m kinda tired of the tirad/police genre, but I just want to fastforward the whole thing and watch Bosco and Kate’s relationship grow! 😛

MC Jin and Mandy Wong are also my favorites in here. Will they pair up?

      1. Chriselle,

You can talk to MC Jin in asianfanatics. Go to the ‘Live On Omission’ subforum. He usually post in his charactar’s thread and the thread where he introduced himself and greeted everyone.

      2. I watched two episodes of this, and I keep seeibg creepy bugs and crawlies, and I have a phobia, so I don’t feel like continuing. Anyone wanna tell me, are bugs in most episodes? 😛

    2. Sorry to butt in but can I ask who is MC Jin? Is he the Hong Kong rapper? I am not familiar with this name, MC Jin, umm!

  4. Kate’s outfit is very unique. It’s PINK! 😛

  5. Well, I like Michael Tse and have missed the first five episodes as I was on holiday last week. I started with episode 6 shown yesterday but I am sure that he will impress me. As for that moustache of Bosco’s – nah, it makes him look old and a bit silly if you ask me. Best to get back to his normal clean-cut self.

  6. I didn’t mind the mustache, but Bosco Wong doesn’t make a very convincing gangster.

  7. How come Fala had to cut her long hair to play a cop in LOO? Same with Maggie Cheung (not sure if she’s a cop or forensics) in FH3 …. coz Kate Tsui has played a cop numerous times and she’s got long hair every time……

    1. it makes her look more mature, besides it’s more convenient to have short hair when you work as a cop, as your long hair can be used to strangle you LOL

    2. She look good with the short hair but unfortunately her acting is not as great as her beauty

      1. at least she is great to look at, whereas kate for me neither

kate can play a character that wants to make it big but can’t really act hehe

or maybe a reality show to highlight her total incompetence as an actress

wonder how many exec. and directors she have been with to climb his high with her ability

  8. HAHAHAHHA, “Bosco had to keep his mustache during their filming thus during intimate scenes, she was often painfully poked by his mustache” THATS SO CUTE!
