Brian Chu Tackles New Robotic Role
Venus Wong (王敏奕), Brian Chu (朱敏瀚), Hugo Wong (黃子恒), and Kayee Tam (譚嘉儀) attended the costume fitting for their new drama Virtual Lover <虛擬情人>.
This will be the first time in Brian’s 12-year career where he plays the male lead as a handsome virtual lover created by Venus’ character to be warm and understanding. Some noted similarities to Ali Lee’s (李佳芯) role in AI Romantic <智能愛人>, but Brian pointed out that his role “has a human side and also comes in different variations.” Brian is excited to prepare for the challenges ahead, so he will work on defining his distinct personalities.
In recent years, all of Brian’s dramas have required him to take off his shirt to show off his fit physique. This time will not be an exception, as he noted, “TVB won’t be that good and not require me to take it off.” He is very happy to be working with Venus, who is equally passionate about acting. Although heir conversations mostly involve acting, Venus joking that when they become more familiar with each other, they will likely branch off into cooking topics.
Venus revealed that the pair will not have any intimate scenes. Asked if this was due to the “sister-in-law protection plan” that Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) had previously joked about, Venus denied this and stated that otherwise her other drama Happy Ever After? <婚後事> can not be broadcast! “Bosco was only saying this to protect me so that I wouldn’t be yelled at by his fans,” Venus added.
