Carina Lau and Tony Leung Return from Bhutan
Recently Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) and Tony Leung (梁朝偉) appeared in a video with 92-year old Bowie Wu (胡楓) who expressed his happiness at seeing the two in Bangkok. When he called Tony, Wai Gor, Carina jokingly scolded Bowie, “We can’t be Ah Gor or Ah Jie in front of you, as you’re our senior, Ah Ye!” Bowie praised Carina for speaking so eloquently and said it must be because she’s been a part of so many theater productions. He also segued into promoting her upcoming theater production The Truth About Lying <香港式離婚> which will start showing in December.
Tony watched the two bantering with a shy smile on his face. Bowie later asked Tony where they were travelling to next and he smiled before answering that he was going from “Bangkok to Bangkok.” Bowie complained that a moment ago, the couple disclosed they were headed to Bhutan.
Carina and Tony got married in 2008 in Bhutan, which is nicknamed the happiest place on earth. The entire wedding cost more than 30 million Hong Kong dollars and the couple invited hundreds of friends. It was said director Wong Kar Wai (王家衛) personally produced a short documentary for the couple to be played at the wedding.
Later, Carina uploaded a photo of Tony and herself on social media with the simple caption, “16 years later.” Although she did not share where the photo was taken, it was not hard to see they were in Bhutan based on the temple in the background and the five colored flag. Carina had her hand on Tony’s shoulder while he smiled faintly with his hands in his pockets. In another photo, it was just their backs. Tony sat on the arm of a chair while Carina sat with her legs crossed in a masculine manner.
Fans congratulated Carina and Tony on their anniversary and said they would never get tired of seeing the two together.
