Carina Zhang Gets Herself into Further Controversy

Labeled a wife-pampering monster, 45-year-old singer and actor Raymond Lam (林峯) has been known to be a generous man. Recently, his wife, Chinese model Carina Zhang (張馨月) faced online criticism for the unfeeling way she handled her nanny’s dismissal, and then got herself in the spotlight again in a livestream for her views on monthly household allowances.

“Husbands Be Self-Aware”

Married since 2019 with a daughter together, Carina and Raymond had faced pressure and gossip as many felt she was not worthy enough match for Raymond. To make things worse, Carina also created a negative vibe with netizens, and was recently hit with criticism when she checked her nanny’s luggage twice on the latter’s last day of work, and got her to return to clean the bathrooms, even after she had called for a cab.

In a recent livestream, Carina was chatting about household allowance with her followers, when everyone thought she wanted to express how she would work hard to earn her own keep without depending on her husband.

However, Carina then said, “I think sometimes we have to let guys have the self-awareness, it depends on whether the husband is self-aware, I don’t like to have to ask for allowance either, so I never ask for it and depend on him being self-aware.”

When Carina claims that she does not enjoy controlling the purse strings and will only keep an eye on the household allowance, many netizens jumped on her words, and said that she was probably not given the rights to manage the finances.
