Carlos Chan Celebrates 32nd Birthday

Carlos Chan (陳家樂) was surprised by not one, but two birthday cakes by his cast members, while filming on the set of new movie, Cold Detective <神探大戰>.

Albert Yeung (楊受成), the chairman of Emperor Group which produces Cold Detective and to which Carlos is signed, especially called on the actor at the site of filming on Friday. The film’s cast including Sean Lau (劉青雲) and Kathy Yuen (湯怡) also surprised the actor with two birthday cakes. Promising to treat Carlos to a birthday meal after he wraps up filming, Albert is full of praise for the artiste, saying “I’ve always had high hopes for Carlos as he has both the looks and a good work etiquette. I’m happy he’s achieved a career breakthrough this year, and hopes he can cherish all the chances he gets.”

Sharing his birthday sentiments, Carlos said, “This was a very lucky year for me as I received the memorable role of a ‘grandfather’ in Daddy Cool <逆缘>”. I hope everyone will continue to lend me their support. I want to keep getting new projects; being busy on my birthday makes me feel happy and content.” Playing the male lead opposite Wayne Lai, the 32-year-old actor found success in the highly-rated time-travelling drama Daddy Cool, his first TVB drama in 10 years since 2008’s Dressage to Win <盛裝舞步愛作戰>.

Carlos had earlier celebrated his birthday together with Rosina Lam (林夏薇) and Michelle Wai (衛詩雅), whom he calls his closest friends in the industry. They gifted him a bottle of wine and a birthday cake respectively.

When asked about his rumored plans to acquire a new residence, Carlos replied humbly, “You think too highly of me! I’m thinking of looking at a new place due to space. My sister is not thinking of moving away though she’s getting engaged at the end of the year, so there’s a bit of a space concern. But the market is quite unstable now, so my family and I decided that we would renovate our place and save up in before reconsidering our options.”
