Carmaney Wong Admits She Has Little Work; Needs to Rely on Her Savings
Every year, TVB recruits new actresses through the annual Miss Hong Kong Pageant, but due to the ongoing protests, Miss Hong Kong 2019 Carmaney Wong (黃嘉雯) is not getting a lot of endorsement work. Admitting that she is spending more than her current earnings, Carmaney has to rely on her earlier savings as a model.
Appearing at a press conference for the variety show Island of the Monsoon <絕色星期二:野性風之島>, Carmaney shares that she does get a fixed salary from TVB. However, she still needs to dip into her savings prior to entering the industry to pay for her expenses. She doesn’t see her current lifestyle as difficult, but more as a transition to a new lifestyle.
Although preoccupied with preparing for TVB’s Anniversary Gala, as well as a few charity works, Carmaney still has plenty of free time to spend with her boyfriend and friends.
On the other hand, another popular contestant, Kayan Choi (蔡嘉欣), already has a variety program hosting opportunity though she did not placed in this year’s Miss Hong Kong Pageant. When asked if not winning a crown is better, Carmaney responded, “It is an honor. I’m very happy for Kayan because she is smart. I believe when I finish carrying the responsibilities of Miss Hong Kong, I will have the chance too.”
