Tavia Nails Vengeance Onscreen

As Tavia’s comeback work after 6 years, the actress expressed relief about the reception to the role, as audiences label her as “Queen of Revenge”. “Sis Moon is a character who’s vastly different from the real me, hence I was also apprehensive about not doing well, though excited at the same time,” Chatting to the press about the most compelling part of her character, Tavia shared, “It will be her perseverance, no matter what others think of her, she is a respectable though tragic role, but of course there are reasons to detest her as she is also unscrupulous.”

Netizens Name Their Preferred “Goddess of Justice”

With TVB turning its focus to intensified collaboration with Youku-streamed dramas, a legal-themed production titled Themis <正義女神Themis> is one of several upcoming dramas announced, – alongside One-twelfth <刑偵12> and Golden Forest <金式森林> – while netizens are already putting forth their suggestions and guesses for who is best suited for the Goddess of Justice role as Themis’ lead actress!

Previously, actress Maggie Cheung Ho-Yee (張可頤) had been invited to make her comeback in The Queen Of Castle <巨塔之后>, but delays in filming led to a conflict in her schedule, with the role eventually going to actress Jessica Hsuan (宣萱). Producer Chung Shu Kai (鍾澍佳) had previously mentioned about creating a tailored role specially for Maggie, but it is yet unknown if Themis’ central heroine role will be hers.

Meanwhile, names put forth by netizens include Charmaine, who once expressed interest in taking on the new challenge of playing a lawyer. However, she will likely have her schedule already lined up all the way till next year with filming for Queen of News 2 <新聞女王2> as well as its movie adaptation. Other names thrown up include Tavia, Kelly Cheung (張曦雯), Ada Choi (蔡少芬) and Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯), though official confirmation will not be anytime soon, given how details are usually closely guarded for Chinese platform collaborations.

Actress Ali Lee (李佳芯), who has no new drama engagements since Mahjong Orchestra <麻雀樂團>, was also one of the casting suggestion. Frozen for her political views, the actress, who has yet to recontract with TVB, recently shared photos of her taking a day trip out of town to get close to nature, and wrote a beautiful motivational message, “Listen quietly to the rain gathering and falling among the trees, embrace the warmth and energy given by the sun. There are many things in this world that can heal us. Take a deep breath, stretch, move your body. The energy within you is greater than you imagine, and the path ahead is wider than you think. Don’t be defeated by yourself.”
