Catching Up with Chrissie Chau
Thiry-one-year-old Chrissie Chau (周秀娜) first shot to popularity after releasing risqué portrait albums showing off her voluptuous figure in 2009. With an extensive resume of film roles and modeling experience, Chrissie agreed to film her first TVB drama, Deep in the Realm of Conscience <深宮計>.
Since the first series Beyond the Realm of Conscience <宮心計> was so highly regarded, Chrissie admitted that she felt some pressure. Furthermore, many felt that Chrissie’s look was too modern to be convincing in an period drama. However, Chrissie is up for the challenge. “I really like the costumes for palace dramas. When I binge watch television series, I would be watching palace dramas. Besides, Beyond the Realm of Conscience had such high ratings, so there is a guarantee.”
Starring in film Yuppie Fantasia 3 <小男人週記3> alongside Lawrence Cheng (鄭丹瑞), Chrissie shared her filming experience. She was surprised when asked to star in the latest installment of the classic franchise since the earlier films featured heavyweights such as Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲) and Rosamund Kwan (關芝琳). With Lawrence directing and starring in the latest movie, Chrissie exclaimed, “His talent is overloading. Even when he is wearing simple shorts, a light jacket, glasses, and has the 5 o’clock shadow, it still wouldn’t deter him from [his role in] directing. In the role of an actor, he would wear a suit and tie. He looks very handsome!”

Success of Realm 1 doesn’t guarantee success in Realm 2.
Side note: I’m a high believer that make up can do a lot and can change a lot to one’s face. In this poc, however, it clearly indicates she donr somethig to her cheeks. They’re like 2 round discs … how is that pretty? Couldn’t they tell immediately after injection? Eh, “beauty” baffles me.
