Cecilia Cheung a Target of Suicide Rumors
Since Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) and Faye Wong (王菲) rekindled their romance after an 11-year separation, Cecilia Cheung (張柏芝) has been portrayed as a jealous ex-wife unable to let go of the past. Rumors circulated this week that Cecilia had even tried to commit suicide because of unbearable loneliness.
The suicide rumors started in an online forum on December 7. A netizen attached a black and white photograph of Cecilia to a fabricated news headline, “Actress Cheung died from jumping off a building. The suicide note states her love for Nicholas. It’s suspected that Cecilia jumped off a building and died.” The message stated that Cecilia had committed suicide by jumping from the 24th floor of the Mandarin Hotel and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Almost immediately after the message was posted, the media contacted Cecilia’s manager, Yu Yuxing (余毓興), who confirmed that Cecilia is indeed safe and alive. The rumors were purely fabricated.
Denies Getting Back Together with Edison Chen
Often the center of controversy, Cecilia has been forever linked to Edison Chen (陳冠希) since the 2008 nude photo scandal. With Edison’s recent breakup with girlfriend Ann Hong (洪文安), it was speculated that he was back together with Cecilia. It was reported that Cecilia will attend the grand opening of Edison’s new restaurant in Beijing.
Cecilia’s ex-manager and confidante Tiffany Chan (陳嵐) angrily commented, “Where did these rumors come from? Cecilia would never go to Edison’s new store opening. She added, “You are fabricating this; don’t you have to bear responsibility? It’s delusional and the person who wrote it is crazy and gossipy!”

I really pity her. Already a single mother with dreadful past but yet ppl still blaming and fabricating such stories about her. Hope she would stay strong and focus in bringing up her two boys.

1) Since Nic divorced he could get any girl he wanted for sex.

The netizen who posted that fabricated report is one sixk individual. The media who constantly link Cecilia to Edison should report on something useful for a change. To the media: The past is the past. Let it go already! Seems like the only person who can’t let go of Nic and Ce’s relationship is the media.
All these rumours are hurting the kids. People get divorced all the time and manage to get on with their lives. The only difference here is that they are famous.
Just the government’s way of distracting the masses from real issues I guess.

honestly after nic exposed his relationship with faye, i think cecilia has reached her limit in news-value. she’s pretty much like jennifer aniston after her divorce with brad pitt…still A-B list celebrity, but much less exposure.
the thing about her and nic was that together they create drama. that was what kept papz going. they wanted to dig dirt. now that she’s out of the picture, she doesn’t have drama with people…unless you count johnnie to.

ehh i think once you make your mark in showbiz, you’ll have some influence. but if someone really wants to leave showbiz behind, they can. you just don’t hear about them because they want to keep it that way.

You mention Cecilia is not news-worthy. Yes, but rather the whole point is = she was NOT seeking to be anywhere in the news in the first place. Esp not for such a mean and stupidly-low reason like a fake death.
(How do vicious people who spread such verbal vitriol even as harmless prank even look themselves in the mirror everyday without thinking they’re lowlife scum?!? What IF someone was already depressed, and this was the catalyst pushed them over the edge?!?)
It’s not just CCehung … Shirley Yeung was also mercilessly hunted down. Sure many ‘harmless’ small pebbles are thrown … but what if that one last pebble made it a rock that finally drowned a person?
One reason (among others like education) that Cecilia moved to Singapore = a more private sanctuary to get away from the unethical viciously HK paparazzi to get some privacy for her sons.

Nic didn’t expose the relationship. The paparazzi actively spied on them from an apartment block across from where Faye lives in Beijing.
I never liked Cecilia but I kinda pity her now. She’s getting too much negative publicity. If she really commits suicide one day the media is to be blamed. And her ex had to add oil to it with his undying love for that woman. What does he want to prove? I prefer my older ex than you? It’s not a romance to be proud of but it’s disgusting. When it’s at the expense of a woman you were once married to and your kids.
While I agree with the negative publicity, I don’t agree with IF she’s affected by Nic.
What his Ex does is none of her business. In fact, she should be thankful they ARE apart now, while she’s still only her 30s. Dysfunctional will sometimes role-model as dysfunctional does( ie money see, monkey do). Patrick and Deborah dragged it out for years.

In a way, it also reflects who had more genuine heart invested in a relationship – Nic seems the more calculatively clinical one who is also careful about the image the public sees (like his parents).
