Charmaine Sheh Establishes Own Studio, “I Want to Control My Life”
It was an unforgettable 41st birthday for Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), who announced on her social media that she has officially opened up her own agency, the Charmaine Sheh Workshop Limited. “The biggest present to self in 2016!” she said.
On May 28, Charmaine’s 41st birthday, the Line Walker <使徒行者> star went on Facebook to announce that she has established her own independent studio and agency. The announcement was made in the form of a short video, which explained her reasons for the project.
“The world in my eyes is actually very simple,” said Charmaine. “I like freedom. I want to do what I want to do. This moment is a new beginning, a beginning that I really look forward to starting.”
In the video, which is made with help of her manager Joanne Chan (陳早茵), Charmaine added, “I want to be able to choose. It sounds easy, but it’s not. I want to control my life and choose the jobs I like. I want to be happy every day. This studio is my biggest present to myself.”
The studio wasn’t the only surprising present. The actress, who has been shooting the TVB drama Casino Heroes <賭城群英會>, was also surprised by her close friends, who showed up unannounced at her residence all in pink.
“Thank you for the surprise! I’m so happy! I love you guys so much!” said Charmaine on Weibo.

Is that Annie Man in the picture? Long time didn’t see her.
@kidd Yes that’s her looking the same!
With her own studio she needs to work harder to promote herself, get funding, etc. Since she has people network and people skills and the money, shouldn’t be a problem. But who is her agent??
@funnlim Is that a trick question? LOL!!
If she is starting her own agency, who do you think would be representing her?,
Joanne Chan (now her agent) is her longtime friend. In fact, all the people she collaborated (photographer, stylist etc) are her longtime friend.
She actually started preparing for her workshop last year.
p.s. She’s still meeting Chik Kei Yee & gang regularly, I hope they get to collaborate again (not TVB).
Waaaa, 41 already…wow
and who’ss that girl w/the middle finger? how elegant of her hahaah LOL…
@kiki The girl looks kinda like Fennie Yuen lol
Oh wow, nice to see so many old faces who use to be at tvb! It’s also nice to see Charmaine’s circle of friends are a diverse mixture in popularity and status even though she is quite a big celebrity, compared to Myolie’s circle where they’re all more or less equal in status.
Also, I didn’t know Florence Kwok and her were good friends, I would never have imagined it or thought of them together as friends.
Good for her. Very inspiring words.
