Charmaine Sheh Films New Patrick Kong Movie

Since her TVB management contract expired, Charmaine Sheh Si Man was focused on exploring outside opportunities. Aside from making money in China, Charmaine recently partnered with Director Patrick Kong on his latest movie project to establish a stronghold in the film industry.

Last night, Charmaine, Him Law, and Rose Chan Ka Woon were filming a scene for A Date After Divorce <人約離婚後> at a dessert shop. Although there was a large crowd of spectators, Charmaine remained undistracted in the filming and listed carefully to Patrick’s guidance.

During the filming break, Charmaine was not swayed by the fast-food take-out options and only drank lemon tea.

Jayne: Filming for Patrick Kong’s movie started so quickly! This is the film in which Charmaine and Alex Fong will play a divorced couple. I wonder what “new breakthrough” Charmaine will have, as hinted by Patrick Kong in an earlier interview.

  1. Since Charmaine have always filmed series, I’m glad she has the opportunity to step into filming movies. Has she ever had a major role in a movie before?

Really looking forward to this movie! 😀

    1. Yes, once in a movie about cook with Hacken Lee.

    2. Besides movie with Hacken, Charmaine has also starred in a movie with Chilam way back in the early days of her career.

      1. Charmaine also starred in a movie called Love is a Butterfly with Loletta Lee, Nicola Cheung, Benny Chan etc in 2002.

      2. Actually, she did a total of 5 movies before this:

        1. Blue Moon (with Chilam)
        2. Perfect Match (with Chilam)
        3. Love is a Butterfly (with Benny)
        4. Lady Iron Chef (with Hacken)
        5. 72 Tenants of Prosperity (guest starring)

  2. in the movie industry, the only breakthrough i can think of is a little more nudity than her usual tvb series.

    1. lol. well she could also try acting right? 😛 joking

    2. Actually dun u wanna see Charmaine swear or smoke? lol

      1. I want to see badass and b!tch-y Charmaine 😀

      2. @Masaharu

ooo you want to see real-life Charmaine too? 😛

      3. Haha I mean on TV dramas only. As for real life – it’s her choice to do whatever she wants to do.

  3. Charmaine looks well-rested, and the colour of her cardigan enhances her radiant-looking face!

  4. I wouldn’t be looking forward to this movie. Don’t think Alex Fong and Charmaine look like a couple at all. Can already tell it will be a potential flop…

    1. It won’t be a flop. Despite not being favoured by movie critics, Patrick Kong’s movies always did seasonably well in the box office. I predict this movie will be the same.

      1. But Alex Fong and Charmaine Sheh? No lar unless there is a bed scene in it.

      2. alex fong is not a bad actor. i think there’s hope in this movie.

charmaine is the one i’m concerned with. it usually takes a few movies to get rid of the “tvb series” air that andy lau mentions. andy lau gave that critic to gordan lam and i suspect, charmaine will have the same aroma.

      3. Yeah, Patrick Kong isn’t a critics’ favorite but for some reason he has huge followings in HK.

  5. Charmaine and Alex Fong and Him Law… Charmaine’s hair cut makes her look more mature thus she looks old pairing with Alex and Him….

    1. Maybe this is a love story of an older woman and younger man. Charmaine won’t convince as a woman of the guys age.

      1. oh, and I suddenly think of Joel Chan and his ex-wife’s relationship.. maybe they got that idea from him XD

  6. I’m looking forward to the her new movie. Charmaine does look radiant and well-rested since she left TVB. Heard the movie will come out this Aug., I miss seeing Charmaine on-screen.

    1. Well she will be onscreen soon, since her drama with Raymond Lam will be out in a couple of weeks, I can’t wait to see that one!!!

  7. I am re-watching Detective Investigation Files IV (Chinese: 刑事偵緝檔案IV), and notice Charmaine’s eyes were not double-creased and so deeply set-in, and her nose were rather flat back then. It makes me think she has plastic surgeries. Does anyone else think so?

    1. I am not sure about her eyes, but her nose looks the same to me.

    2. she didn’t have any plastic surgeries. been following her for years. if she wants, she should’ve gotten rid of that ugly scar under her chin. even make-up can’t cover that.

and really, plastic surgeries do wonders. Charm’s face isn’t at WONDER level yet.

it must be due to the loss of babyfat. she was chubby cute back in DIF4.

      1. So true! She’s had that scar for ages now. She had the chance to go and get cosmetic surgery for it but decided not to. The makeup helps but you can always see the line under her chin 🙁

Honestly Charmaine is not pretty. She has matured into her face, losing the baby fat and have more defined lines now. And obviously makeup can help too 🙂 She looks better than her Miss Hk days that’s for sure.

    3. When one gets older, eyes can become deeper set. My eyes are more deep set now compared to before.

  8. Hi all,
Jokes aside, no offence if i have to speak my mind out. It’s a freedom of speech. Seeing the situation in the film industry of HKG, if you local people do not support your own film made, actors, actresses and directors; be it whoever is gonna be the actors, actresses or directors then i guess its sad and a shame because external parties or foreign talents are gonna invade the industry and gain monopoly.

In my opinion, the people involved in the local film industry (actors, actresses and directors) should be given a chance to expand on their talents in different genres and the locals in HKG should embrace local talents instead of foreign. The locals in HKG could render their support to local talents in the film industry instead of being critical and cynical. It’s good to be critic if its done positively not transpiring negative vibes across. For those that think they could do better, here’s the challenge – why don’t you do the job yourself then see what its like to be criticized? Cheers 🙂

    1. There’s a general misconception that in order to be critical of something you must be able to do better. You don’t regardless if its +ve or -ve criticism. Whether they are well-founded is a different case. But I do agree +ve criticism is what HK film needs, if you can get over the less than entertaining stuff they produce nowadays.

Personally my view is you cannot watch hk cinema like some art house flicks or oscar worthy stuff cause hk cinema has never been that route. Its got its own flavour and culture despite being less easily appreciable by a more global audience.

  9. Charmaine is gorgeous as ever, love seeing her
