Charmaine Sheh Hopes to Recover in Time for “The Apostle”
Currently suffering from a cervical shift, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) has possibilities of developing hand paralysis. Her condition was confirmed by a MRI scan after experiencing a sudden numbing pain in her right hand. For the past half month, Charmaine turned down all jobs and have been receiving daily physiotherapy. Although the condition is becoming better, her normal lifestyle remains affected.
Usually a driver, Charmaine now takes taxis, afraid her hand would suddenly break out in pain again. On December 5, she was seen at Hong Kong Baptist Hospital in the Kowloon district. After an hour of physiotherapy, Charmaine boarded a taxi home. Wearing a face mask, she looked tired and worn-out with her petite figure. Charmaine reported when things were at its worst, she could not eat nor sleep, leading to a 9-pound drop to her current weight of 94 pounds. Even at the moment, she can only pick up objects with her left hand.
To make matter worse, Charmaine also caught a cold that lasted for more than a week. However, she kept the severity of her condition from her mother. “I’m afraid she would be worried, so I endured it silently when the pain came along. But she’ll soon find out, since you guys are reporting it,” Charmaine said.
Highly Anticipates Filming “The Apostle”
New TVB crime thriller, The Apostle <使徒行者>, is set to commence filming early next year. Its schedule cannot be changed, since male lead, Raymond Lam (林峯), has already made plans. Charmaine admitted her role in the drama as an undercover investigator for the commercial crime bureau is extremely appealing, and does not want to miss her opportunity due to her health condition. An insider revealed that Charmaine even turned down a mainland Chinese series so she could stay home and heal in time for The Apostle.
Since The Apostle will feature Charmaine in many action scenes, her condition must be very well-off in order to complete them successfully. Allegedly, TVB has already made back-up plans. In case Charmaine does not recover in time, they will have Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) step in and replace her role. That is also why The Apothecary <大藥房>, which stars Linda as female lead, has already begun filming. The drama would be completed before The Apostle begins, which fits in nicely with the filming schedule.

Hope u recover quickly. Bet the idea of having someone likely taking your place incase u don’t recover will add to your stress since u wanted to have this role.

crap! Linda as possible replacement should Charmaine fails to recover on time! of many actresses, why Linda? TVB stop polluting the TVs with too many Linda dramas in 2014. We had it enough in 2012!
Hopefully she is better, also why should they replace Charmaine with Linda, I totally agree they should replace it with someone who looks like they might actually fit for the role.!

I am quite sure hoping for a quick recovery may be nigh impossible. Don’t see what can really be done unless the doctors concerned can work out a miracle.
Charmaine have started to attend events and flying already, that’s a good sign she’s progressing with her treatment. Just that she won’t be able to shoot any action scenes.
Linda is not and never has a strong enough image to be casted as an undercover investigator.
She just doesn’t have it.
Perhaps Kate would be more appropriate.

It won’t be a surprise if the series can’t be started. Tony Leung injured. Ah Sheh has problem with heath, LF had surgery. The series seems to be unlucky :P. Moreover none of its cast excluding Micheal Miu confirmed themselves the participation.
Actually either Ah Sheh or Linda are much the same to me as female lead. I’m more concern of the script.
Yea, I am more concerned with the script and plot. Charmaine should put her health above all. Linda or Charmaine as the lead is also not much of a difference since there is more to a series than just the cast. Charmaine should rest more until she recovers.

linda is not a good substitution for charmaine but who is? it seems like tvb want linda to win ba next year. she appears in so many dramas next year.

has kevin cheng visited charmaine sheh recently while she has this health problem? if yes that would be nice because that’s what she needs now. she needs someone next to her to take care of her. this also may helps her recover fast if kevin cheng would be there to help her get through the recovery.
Kevin & Charmaine already emphasized that they remained friends. They are happy with their own career and life. Fans should move on to.
If not Linda, who? Because Charmaine’s way of speaking is similar to Linda and frankly Charmaine is not the better actress.
Although, I’m not a big fan of either….I wouldn’t say Linda is any better. I haven’t seen the Brother’s Keeper, but in her recent past couple of dramas…she tends over act a little and this crying business is really getting weird. It’s like every crying scene she would cry like her mom died or something. Too much!

well since linda chung hasnt proven much versatility in her roles, maybe doing this undercover role will help. Honestly i believe she can do this if charmaine can’t, hopefully she accepts.

In fact, an action drama series “The Apostle” will not do Charmaine Sheh any good with her current cervical shift injury. I hope she will reconsider her willingness to film it. She will get injured again very easily.
Why not rewrite the character to someone suitable for Charmaine’s condition?
