Charmaine Sheh Lectures About Safety with Shanghai Public Security Bureau
45-year-old Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) was invited by the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau to lecture about preventing fraud at a safety training which was aired on TV via the CCTV News.
Due to a rise in fraud cases in the city, the Shanghai PSB established an anti-fraud alliance program to assist students in learning about fraud and how to prevent it. TVB actress Charmaine Sheh, who had famously portrayed many police officer roles in the past, was invited to be a lecturer at the safety training school.
“I think being a police officer is a highly respectable and sacred career,” said Charmaine. “They are responsible for maintaining social order, protecting our safety, and fight against criminals. I admire them for having such a perseverance and flexibility. Whenever we face difficulty, we would always call the police. Police makes us feel safe.”
Charmaine stressed that deceivers are not ageist when it comes to choosing victims. “Many people believe that they’re smart enough to prevent this, but these people are very smart in deceiving us,” she said. “It doesn’t how high are EQ or IQ is. It doesn’t matter how old are how many years of schooling we got. It doesn’t matter to them. We’re all equally capable of being their victims.”
When it comes to executing their plan, deceivers are equipped with a “professional” script, and are trained to speak well. According to Charmaine, they are able to easily devise a plan to cause victims to feel anxious to the point where they must fall for their deception.
“They know exactly what they’re doing,” she said.
