Charmaine Sheh Signs Two-Year Contract With TVBC

After much speculation, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) has finally decided to sign with TVBC, a mainland China joint venture between TVB, China Media Capital (CMC) and Shanghai Media Group (SMG).

When Charmaine’s prior mainland management contract ended in March, many companies leaped at the opportunity and presented the 38-year-old with lucrative offers. There were rumors that Hong Kong entertainment giant EEG was willing to pay $40 million HKD for a two-year contract. The main contenders in this battle however are Huayi Brothers Media, which offered Charmaine 80 million RMB, and TVBC, which set the price at 50 million RMB. Previously, Charmaine expressed that she is hoping to continue her work in mainland China and will place more weight on the length of the agreements.

On August 21, Charmaine was seen at the Hong Kong airport along with Kate Tsui (徐子珊), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), and TVB executive Virginia Lok (樂易玲). The group was traveling to Beijing to attend the 2013 China International Film & TV Programs Exhibition where they will present their upcoming series at the TVB Family Film and Television press conference.

When pressed about her contract decision, Charmaine finally revealed her plans to sign with TVBC. “I am not sure if I can talk about this yet. There will be an announcement made tomorrow at a press conference. I have always had a per-series contract with TVB. This time it will be a management contract. The conditions are great.” When asked about the price of the agreement, Charmaine said, “There were many rumors about this. TVBC is very sincere. The length of the contract is estimated to be two years. I will focus on the mainland market, but will also film for TVB, possibly one series per year.”

Asked if Ms. Lok personally met with her for negotiations, Charmaine said, “I have always negotiated with Ms. Lok. When I left [TVB], I wanted to work with mainland actors and production teams to broaden my perspective. I will be able to maintain my reputation [while accomplishing the above].” Charmaine added that she was given a lot of freedom with this contract, and is satisfied by its length.

  1. Good! We will watch more of Charmaine Sheh’s drama series, hopefully in Cantonese!

    1. The ones with tvb in HKG will be in cantonese but don’t place too much hope on the mainland series cause they’re always in mandarin unless they do a dual audio soundtrack for the dvd release and have Charmaine do the cantonese soundtrack and not having someone dubbing her.

I miss her at tvb and her supposedly mainland series ???……only seen one where she was married into a rich family. Wonder what happen to that Mongolian series ??? Anyone have any idea?

      1. Who cares, she’s boring and over rated!

        Sick of hearing about her!

  2. nothing better than having charmaine back to save tvb ^_________________^

    1. I am not sure if she will be able to save TVB. There were many other famous artists that came back but TVB is still sinking. It takes much much more than a few popular cast members to save TVB. The producers, directors, scriptwriters and other people who work in the background are even more important than who we see on screen.

      1. TVB needs to film more drama series with good scripts. Their current poor scripts will surely pull down the success of their drama series, such as “Beauty at War”, “Bullet Brain”, “TITS 2”, etc.

      2. Agree, the only series I enjoyed from her was her role in When Heaven Burns. The scriptwriters can’t seem to come up with original ideas often, they need to break out of that typical HK genre setting and try something else. Even I can think of more better plots than what they’ve done recently. The current grand productions this year so far failed. Beauty At War, too complex for HK audiences to understand. Triumph 2, the most anticipated series came out to be a disappointment as well…they basically tried too hard to make it grand.

    2. Of course its gonna take more than her to save tvb, but having her is better than having the “media’s next gen fadans” on screen 😛

  3. I’m happy I get to see Charmaine back at tvb 🙂 She has a lot or screen presence

  4. Happy for Charmaine. Can’t wait to watch the new tvb drama co-star with Tony Leung Ka Fai. Eager to know who will be starring along with Charmaine and Tony Leung.

    1. I don’t think Charmaine is going to star in that series anymore. She said that her first drama back with TVB would be a period drama.

  5. I find it sorta funny that when she was at TVB she was criticised heavily and yet when she is gone and back again she is welcomed, much like the one, the special one to save TVB. I suppose the current lineup must be worse than her to have such positive reaction or is this just a minority? Frankly I don’t think she can save TVB per se. Is she a ratings puller like Bobby?

    1. She was only criticized in the beginning of her career because of her squeaky voice, but she was met with a lot of approval right before she left. Therefore, TVB tried to beg her to stay. Besides, she has to be better than the “media’s next generation fadans”.

      1. Charmaine Sheh is definitely better than any of the top 5 fadans in TVB. Charmaine’s acting is well-rounded; she is good for both modern and ancient drama series, tragic and comedic, professional and silly. The only drama series I didn’t like her was “Sister Fa”. She acted quite badly.

      2. @sandycherry –

In addition to Fa Jie, following series from Charmaine I hated:
Strike @ Heart w/ Joe Ma
        Glittering Days
        Let it Be Love

Everything else has ended up being very good, including her very first series, Flying Fox.

She may have been criticized by others in the beginning, I always have liked her. She got me in DIF4. Lucky her, Lee San San was horrible in that series …

      3. In fact, I shouldn’t say that I liked all Charmaine Sheh’s drama series. I just liked many of them. I didn’t like “4 in Love” either.

The best ones that I like are:

        1) “When Heaven Burns” 天與地
        2) “Country Spirit” 酒是故鄉醇
        3) “The Dance of Passion” 火舞黃沙
        4) “Point of No Return” 西關大少
        5) “You’re Hired” 絕代商驕
        6) “Beyond the Realm of Conscience” 宮心計
        7) and some others ..

      4. @SandCherry –

Seven Sisters and A Herbalist Affair got me in tears almost every other episode. Those two had to be my favorite.

I actually like Charmaine a lot because it seems like every male co-star do very well with her: Chilam, Gallen, Steven and Kevin.

      5. “Seven Sisters” and “A Herbalist Affair” are not bad at all. I think an artiste’s acting has a lot to do with the scripts and her characters.

The top 3s are the ones that I liked her the best.

The only really bad role that she did was “Sister Fa”. She acted very much the same as Roger Kwok’s “Ah Wong”, and I hated Ah Wong’s character even Roger won the TV King award.

      6. pandamao
Fairchild Chinese TV is airing “Glittering Days” here on Sundays. I just watched one of the early episodes yesterday. Agree that Charmaine’s doing very well as Chu Yuk Lan, the stuttering girl. I almost forgot about this drama series and Charmaine’s character.

      7. pandamao
Sorry I misunderstood your post. I thought you liked “Glittering Days”. I just read your message again, and found out that you hated it.

However, I think Charmaine did very well in that character.

    2. Not gonna say she’s a ratings queen, but she has some dedicated fans (eg me). She did tend to stick to certain types of roles, which I think stunted her acting.

I think people simply miss her. Her acting is not as good as it was (or perhaps its the roles she keep playing), but she has really good screen presence.

Can she successfully lead a drama by herself? It depends on the script, the quality of the minor cast…but in my opinion she works well with co-stars (she always has fantastic chemistry with the male leads).

But whatever the case, I miss her on TVB. I hope her experience in mainland television has helped her with her acting. Also crossing my fingers that she could appear in a refreshing show.

      1. I hate how TVB tend to cast her as those typical nice girl roles because that prevented her from showing off her true acting. I think she should play meatier roles like villains or more complex characters. Totally agree with you that a lot of her past roles stunted her acting.

      2. That is the problem of TVB. They do it to all their top fadans, such as Charmaine Sheh, Linda Chung, Myolie Wu and Tavia Yeung. The only 2 exceptions could be Kate Tsui and Fala Chen.

It does restrict their acting abilities/capabilities. They don’t get chances to act other characters with different personalities. A well-rounded artiste should be able to act all types of characters.

Only supporting artistes are given different characters to act, such as Nancy Wu, Elena Kong, Ben Wong, Joyce Tang, Mandy Wong, and they excel in their acting.

      3. Agree with Charmaine always playing the same role, usually the talkative bia girl that ends up showing her “caring” side.

Once she gets a new type of role, i end up appreciating and liking her again.. forensic hero was something different for her and same with Country Spirit and When Heaven Burns.

    3. Can’t agree with u more Funn. Can’t stand her voice and her manja ways

    4. pandamao
Sorry I misunderstood your post. I thought you liked “Glittering Days”. I just read your message again, and found out that you hated it.

However, I think Charmaine did very well in that character.

  6. Could someone enlighten me please. That other tv station helm by Ricky still has not received it’s official licence. However all the artists who left tvb are filming series with this new station. Without the official licence, these series cannot being broadcast, am I right or wrong??? But in the meantime, the artists are still drawing salary, no??

    1. Right, Ricky is still paying his staff. Why does he film series after series when he has no idea when will he get his license?

    2. Can’t broadcast in HK TV but can make into DVD and sell??? What about online viewing but of course need to pay and have some advertisements?

      1. They need the programing on TV first then release online or video media. They need to build up the library of series. Of course it maybe outdated when it release 2-3 years.

    3. The ex-TVB artists in HKTV do have freedom to go to other stations. The contract offers them more freedom then TVB. Its too bad that HKTV series wont be aired 1-2 years

You can all blame the Hong Kong government.

      1. That was the main reason why so many ex-TVB artistes decided to join HKTV because they will have the flexibility to move around.

      2. HKTV offers freedom to their artistes to act anywhere they wish including in rival TV stations whih TVB never allows that’s why many artistes went there to get work flexibility that TVB doesn’t have. HKTV also provides complete script, ample rest and modern filming equipment which can make artistes job easier compared to TVB.

  7. Sounds like a good deal that gives her a foot in each markets. Charmaine’s always been a savvy business woman.

  8. I think she’s a bit overrated. I don’t mind her, but I don’t think she’s great either. The fist thing she needs to do is to get rid of that awful hair style. She’s had that extreme side sweep for quite a while now and it makes her look tacky.

    1. I personally thinks that she looks the best with long hair, not short hair.

    2. I’m a fan of charmaine, when you say overrated in terms of acting, I agree with you. But no doubt she has the aura of a leading actress and ‘big sister’ status.

      1. How do you define “overrated”? In terms of acting, Charmaine is much better than the current top 5 fadans. But if you compare Charmaine’s acting with Sheren Tang’s, Maggie Cheung Ho Yee’s, Esther Kwan’s, or even Ada Choi’s, Charmaine’s is inferior. However, she is better than Jessica Husan’s, Flora Chan’s, and many others’.

      2. she has the aura of a leading actress and “big sister” status
        ————————————–
Agree! Charmaine’s eyes are very brilliant and can tell stories.

      3. However, she is better than Jessica Husan’s, Flora Chan’s, and many others’.

        —Disagree. Disagree. Disagree.

        Superior: Fadans before Charmaine
        MIddle: Charmaine
        Inferior: Everyone after Charmaine

      4. But yes, she does have leading actress aura. Big sister status, no. She just does not give off that commanding, demanding, I am superior than all of you kind of energy.

      5. Crystal:
Sorry …….. I never think highly of the acting of Jessica Husan and Flora Chan. I don’t like the way they talk ….. very monotonous. I guess acting is a very subjective issue. Everyone has different tastes and expectations.

      6. Big sister status, no. She just does not give off that commanding, demanding, I am superior than all of you kind of energy.

^ I totally agree with you! I personally see her as a leading actress (and one of my favourite actresses), definitely not the ‘big sister’ of tvb.

And I wouldn’t consider her ‘return to tvb’ as saving TVB because even if she or other “veteran” artistes is back but if the quality of scriptwriting is still deteriorating, tvb will need to fix that problem.. :S

      7. Sandcherry:
        That is okay.

        Coco:
Yup. At this point in TVB, it’s not about who comes back to save them… it’s about when they will wake up and realize its their management that needs to be revamped.

      8. At this point in TVB, it’s not about who comes back to save them… it’s about when they will wake up and realize its their management that needs to be revamped.
^ Agreed fully. I love Charmaine’s acting, but I do not see her or anyone else as ‘big sister’ of tvb.

      9. She is better than the current 5 fadans, but imo i think Jessica is more natural than her in terms of acting. However, her acting in WAB is good, but her last tvb show 4 in love…was mediocre but i blame the script for that.

    1. I love Dodo too. No one does confident modern, independent women roles as good as Dodo (if I were to criticize her, I’d say that she’s a bit awkward in period dramas. Dodo’s very much a modern actress. lol). Her eloquence and the strength she projects onto the screen, are second to none. She had so many classic dramas opposite Chow Yun Fat and Alex Man. Before Sheren Teng and Carina Lau, there was Dodo Cheng who gave us her ‘big sister aura’ and charisma! :-

Charmaine is alright…I used to detest her for getting pushed into so many leading roles right off the bat when her acting was still quite weak. But Charmaine has improved her craft over the years (well, she has to, after acting in numerous dramas!), and I can readily commend her solid acting in When Heaven Burns. That’s what Charmaine is to me – a solid, but not quite great actress.

      1. Of course she has improved considering the no of dramas she has filmed with tvb. If she cannot improved then something must be very wrong, she was the most heavily promoted actress in tvb compared with Jessica, Sheren etc look at the amt of dramas she has filmed

      2. How about Myolie Wu and Linda Chung? They have been heavily promoted lately, but I don’t see much improvements in their acting, especially Myolie Wu.

      3. Agree I wouldn’t label Charmaine as a great actress there are times when she is not consistent but the one where she gave her best performance throughout her career is in When Heaven Burns.

As for Myolie and Linda that’s a different story, one has not been putting much effort into her acting and seems to lost that passion of it since she first debuted while the other one has been miscast with the exception of a couple of roles. Linda does well with rebellious/villain characters, I can see it in her. A Journey Called Life is her best performance to date and she wasn’t bad in Gem Of Life. I don’t get the image with her being a good girl at all.

      4. I agree with you. I wouldn’t label Charmaine as a great actress either. In fact, in terms of pure acting skill, I prefer Tavia over her. The only reason I bring up Tavia is they’re roughly from the same generation.

Myolie Wu.. I will always see Myolie in her performances, but never the character she is suppose to play. Lets use her crying scenes from a few series. Lost in the Chamber of Love..when she was playing Michelle Ye’s maid and she had to cry due to getting whipped. Note her crying. Next role in the period drama with Bobby and Linda (the one about dancers)…the very last episode where she was crying when the evil queen demanded her to say where her mother is currently living… note that scene. Finally, Myolie’s scene in TITS2 where she was crying and yelling at her brother (Julian Cheung). If you look carefully at all of her performances in these three scenes, the only thing you see is Myolie over and over again. Of course people might argue that it’s the same actress crying and how many ways can one person cry…I’m not sure how many ways a person can cry, but I do know there is something not right when you’re considered a ‘professional’ actress and you can’t cry in AT LEAST two different ways.

As for Linda Chung, I do not think of her as a bad actress but she can’t be considered an all time great either. I do believe she can do the villainous kind of roles better than her goody two shoes roles. TVB needs to hop off that ‘jade’ image thing. It seriously prevents their artists from improving.

      5. @Crystal –

A few things I would like you to note as well,

        – You noted 3 of Myolie crying scenes where she’s had plenty of crying scenes to note. You only noted her crying scenes but didn’t pinpoint what was it that you disliked. Claiming she’s Myolie is saying nothing other than the world is round, my mother is a female.

        – Note Myolie’s crying scene in Rippling Blossom, Tai Chi, Ghetto Justice (just to compare her worse – Tai Chi with her improvements) The flow of her tears, IMO is not as forced as it was before. In one of her interviews about the break up with Myolie, you can see her real crying. Compare that interview with her tv series, pretty similar. It’s as real as it can get unless you argue she faked the tears in the interview about bosco.

        – Also note – an actress that cannot cry does not mean she’s not a good actress. There are plenty of attributes to determine if an actress is “good” or not.

        – Note, her humorous side in My Sassy Mother in Law, her vocal abilities, her annunciation with her lines, her range of characters she’s played .. etc.

I like Myolie but I also like many other actresses. The only difference is – I can appreciate what each artist brings to the table. I’m not overly critical on people. I believe there are different stages of an artist and it’s through their everyday lives which mold an artist into a better one. Carina can play a strong female role really well because of her kidnapping fiasco. Francis Ng and Anthony can play barbarians really well because they naturally are those type of men.

For me, Myolie has matured in her acting since her break up with Bosco. I quite like her since Ghetto Justice/Rippling Blossom …

      6. I didnt even read through your comment in full since I can pretty much sense you adore Myolie after the first paragraph.

Simply put I do not adore her nor do I dislike her. Shes really just any other actress TVB puts in front of the camera. She definitely excels in certain things. And falls short in many others.

As for her crying, I was just using one example. I could list other things, good and bad, but I really rather not. But back on topic about the crying, I just think as an overhyped and critically proclaimed actress, something like crying, she should be able to convey in at least two separate ways.

Lets use Charmaine as an example, compare her crying scenes in war and beauty vs her role in dance of passion. When you watch carefully, its two separate person crying. Its two different characters crying. When its myolie, it is just myolie… whether its the tears, the way she pitches her voice etc etc.. it is myolie.

And that is the end of that.

P.S. I miss the good old days when forums and discussion boards had comments that were less controversial. Back then, if an actress was good… shes good. Now a days theres a gazillion different opinions. Lol.

      7. @Crystal –

People are busy, didn’t expect a deep interpretation of my comment from you either. But the little you read, I may have conveyed I adore Myolie and I’ll clarify, I do not.

Actresses I adore – Jessica Hsuan, Amy Kwok, Marianne Chan, Amy Kwok

It’s really as I have stated in my last paragraph, I’m not critical when it comes to actress/actor. Many of them bring something unique to the table and I prefer to appreciate their efforts. In addition, I recognize many of TVB artist are at a disadvantage because of the company they work for. TVB is all about milking their cows. I do not expect excellency when the minimal rest time isn’t even provided for them, and let’s not even talk about acting classes. TVB management wants them throw them in and let them sink or swim.

Movie stars tend to do better than TV stars because directors of TV prefer quality over quantity. It’s just sad that if TVB artist don’t have a natural talent immediately, the audience will complain like there’s no tomorrow.

sigh, definitely takes a special personality to prevail through the negativity.

      8. I definitely don’t think Myolie has the acting talents vs. many other fadans. She is too rigid in acting her characters. She is only good in exaggerating her roles ……… she is good in comedies. This is my personal opinion about her acting.

As far as I see Linda Chung, she is always the same with her long hair …….. the same image for every single character, except in ancient drama series. I like her better in ancient drama series ………. she acts a different character not the same usual good-girl Linda Chung.

      9. The thing with Myolie is that her acting is the same in almost every single series especially in the recent years whether she’s crying, speaking, yelling, smiling she’s not playing her character she’s playing herself. I’m just saying she doesn’t get into character as much. Roles after roles she just does the same expressions and its not like all her characters have e same chracteristics and she cant pull that off which proves shes not a versatile actress. I don’t dislike her but I’m not exactly a fan.

I hope to see Linda as a villain throughout a series one day but not those money greedy family member types, a real villain. They’re wasting her potential by casting her in comedies or relationship failures type.

      10. theres no one or 2 ways to cry. you cry according to the scene, If you are trying to cry differently that means you are just faking it. possible using eyedrops which look even more fake. many actor/actress uses them which is unforgivable and juts plain crap…

      11. theres no one or 2 ways to cry. you cry according to the scene, If you are trying to cry differently that means you are just faking it.

Yes perhaps that is how you wish to word it, but when you convey your feelings through tears… I am sure there are different ways to do it… I mean no one person can cry in one way, some can do it dramatically, some can let a tear roll and look pitiful then sob her way through a scene… etc etc. So yes, I do believe there are many different ways to cry.

Lastly with the eye drops.. I don’t think it’s considered ‘unforgivable’ since that sounds kind of serious to not forgive someone cause she/he used eye drops for a skit/scene.

      12. pandamao:

ooo those are the people I adore too. Amy Kwok with like a +++++. She’s a very intelligent woman. Love her.

Anyhow, compared to the rest of the Jaynestars community, I don’t think I’m anywhere near ‘critical’ of an actress’s performance.

      13. I am a critical audience, but I am not an idol fan. Though my comments can be critical at times, I don’t bash or attack any artistes even if they don’t act well. I just state the facts according to how I feel about their acting.

I usually enjoy watching veterans’ acting more than those young artistes’, and I hate watching newbies if they cannot act or speak proper Cantonese.

I don’t like artistes mumbling or speaking their dialogues with lazy intonations. Articulation is very important to me. He he ……..

I guess I can be considered as a critical audience on this website.

      14. @sandcherry –

I guess those flaws are detrimental in your eyes and unfortunately it may prevent you from seeing the artist attributes.

      15. Personally, I don’t think using eye drops is fake when it comes to acting. I would say an actor is truly an actor when he or she could make the crying seems natural by using eye drops…Lol. Sadly, many actors fail to make it look like real crying when using eye drops. It is the way they act that makes the eye-drops technique obvious. I see eye drops as an equipment for acting, and there is nothing wrong using it as long as the actors can make it look natural rather than fake. If an actor is required to act having a nosebleed, does it mean he or she must hit their own nose to make blood come out?

      16. I also don’t think using eye drops is fake when it comes to acting as long as the artiste shows his/her sadness and proper emotions. Not everyone can cry with tears as soon as the camera is rolled.

  9. looks older and older every time I see her. don’t find her that attractive at all

    1. That is natural. Every actress will age. Charmaine Sheh is no longer a young actress. She is 38 now.

Even Linda Chung, the youngest fadan in TVB, will age in the next 10 years. No one can avoid aging.

  10. TVB think she can save them. She’s overly promoted right now even when she is a weak actress.thats what tvb is good at promoting people. Not even feeling excited for her to come back. she acts the same as always.

    1. you said she was a weak actress ????
you think a weak actress can be that famous and welcomed in this industry ????

      1. If Charmaine Sheh is considered to be a weak actress, there is no strong fadan in TVB among the current generation.

If we compare Charmaine’s acting with Sheren Tang’s, Esther Kwan’s, Louise Lee Sze Kee’s, Charmaine is a weak actress. But if we compare Charmaine with the current top 5 fadans, Charmaine is a strong actress.

      2. If we compare Charmaine’s acting with Sheren Tang’s, Esther Kwan’s, Louise Lee Sze Kee’s, Charmaine is a weak actress. But if we compare Charmaine with the current top 5 fadans, Charmaine is a strong actress.

        ^ Yep, I agree 🙂

    2. Sheren Tang and Esther Kwan are strong actress for sure but not Louise Lee Sze Kee she acted so badly in her latest dramas, especially the one with Ruco.. even when she is veteran actress.

      1. Yes, Louise Lee’s acting is not that great in my opinion

      2. I don’t agree. Louise Lee’s acting was not that great when she was one of the top 4 fadans (many years ago), but her acting has got so much better in the last few years.

      3. Louise Lee Sze Kee fluctuates a lot in my eyes. Some series I love her and then some series I hate her. The recent one with Ruco, I also disliked her but I contribute that to the script and not so much of her portrayal. So far, I truly only have liked her in those grand series – Moonlight and etc.

In terms of the older generation, these are my preferences:

        1) Dodo Cheng
        2) Law Lan
        3) Gigi Wong
        4) Liza Wang
        5) Suzanne Kwan

        overrated:
Sit Ka Yin (she’s only good in Virtues of Harmony)
        Louise Lee Sze Kee

      4. Louise Lee is on and off, but she’s more towards the good actress kind.

My preferences are for Gigi Wong, Suzanne Kwan, Susan Tse and sometimes Mary Hon.

      5. @Crystal –

Susan Tze was the one I forgot about … i wanted to add her to my top list as well.

I dislike Mary Hon mainly because I’ve been seeing her soooo much!

Mimi Chu triumphs all. I totally forgot about her!

      6. I also agree that Sit Ka Yin is way over-rated. In fact, her acting was considered terrible to me in recent drama series. She just screamed in her dialogues when she got angry, excited or mad. I don’t like her at all. She acted like Ho Yee (in “The Kindred Spirits”) ever since after her portrayal as Ho Yee.

      7. I used to like Gigi Wong Suk-Yee in the past, but I don’t think highly of her now. She is okay in modern drama series, e.g. “The Hippocratic Crush”, but is terrible in ancient ones. She did badly in “Curse of the Royal Harem” and other ancient drama series.

Surprised that Susanna Kwan would act so well in recent drama series. She was always a flower vase in old days.

Liza Wang is adequate, but not great to me.

Law Lan is good, but she was never a leading actress in any drama series/movies.

Don’t like Susan Tse that much. She acted like a Chinese opera singer sometimes.

Dodo Cheng is okay, but I never really liked her that much in drama series.

      8. I like Mary Hon too. She is getting better and better in her acting, but she is a bit too old to shine now (at least as per TVB’s standards).

      9. prefer suzanne kwan out of all of them liza wong used to be good too.

      10. Yeah Liza Wang use to be a lot better when she was younger. Like back in the 70s lol.

      11. Liza Wang was good in A Threshold of an Era, My Sassy Mother in Law.

Dodo Cheng has been good in everything! I loved all her series when I was growing up watching her. She’s great with all of her co-stars. 🙂

Might as well speak on male too ..

Paul Chun Pei – omg, there’s no one better than him!
Lau Dan – I think I like him the most in ancient series as Hong 7 Gong
Damien Lau – he’s sexy and all but he’s just a bit one-noted for me.
Adam Cheng – he’s truly the king of tv dramas, even better than Chow Yun Fat IMO.

      12. Paul Chun Pei – fantastic actor, very well rounded.
Lau Dan – He is good, but I prefer to watch Paul Chun Pei more.
Damien Lau – I like him more now than in the past when he was young and the 1st lead actor.
Adam Cheng – I only like him in ancient wuxia drama series. He is the best actor to act those 大俠 roles. He is super skinny in modern drama series. I don’t like the way he talks in modern series ….. very monotonous.

    3. being famous dont mean you are a great actor. people r just familiar with her. and we are talking about tvb…

  11. I’m very happy to see Charmaine back to TVB although i’d rather she chose Huayi Brother or EEG because it’s already very successful, not like TVBC, just a new company 🙁
But as her fan, i will always support her 🙂
Hope her next TVB drama is gonna be a great success !

  12. Can’t wait to see her. Has always been one of my fav actresses.

  13. I don’t think she can save TVB, only good scripts can:)
