Chen Feiyu Dyes Hair Blond for “The Lighter and the Princess’ Gown”
Arthur Chen Feiyu (陈飞宇) ignited a wildfire of enthusiasm among netizens after being spotted with blond hair during an outdoor photoshoot. With his drastic hair color transformation, the 21-year-old actor looks to be playing rebellious programming genius in upcoming campus romance The Lighter and the Princess’ Gown <打火机与公主裙> alongside actress Zhang Jingyi (张婧仪).
The Lighter and the Princess’ Gown is adapted from a popular novel of the same name by author Twentine. It tells a story following first-year university student Zhuyun (Zhang Jingyi) with high hopes for the school year until she crosses paths with the so-called bad boy Lixun (Chen Feiyu). Seemingly lazy and incapable, Lixun surprisingly possesses impressive IT skills and even helps Zhuyun out of trouble when she is harassed by another classmate. She decides to leap out of her comfort zone and join Lixun’s programming team. While love eventually blossoms, their relationship is shattered when Lixun ends up in jail for an accidental crime and his heart is filled with hatred and revenge….
Dyeing his hair to suit the character which also has blond hair in the novel, Feiyu convinced many diehard book fans, who initially believed he was not suitable for the role because of his calm and composed image, that he may pull off the character perfectly.
Another highlight is the involvement of first-rate director Liu Chun Chieh (刘俊杰) and a strong production team.
Portraying students who journey through young adulthood into a competitive business world, the young leads are drawing great interest. Supporting cast include Zhao Zhiwei (赵志伟), Zeng Keni (曾可妮), Qian Didi (钱迪迪), and Cui Yuxin (崔雨鑫). While the majority may be unfamiliar faces, their radiant youthful looks are fitting for the campus setting.

This boy will fly in this industry… He just need to keep humble, hardworking and dont allow fame to get the better of him. He is making his Parents very proud.
I think most of us Asians who were born with black hair. We don’t look good with white or blond hair (dyeing). Most people look so “bland”. Do you agree with me? Thanks!
Many people think that he looks like KW, especially more now with these blond locks … so with KW out of the picture, is he going to fill his shoes?
It wouldn’t take much for Chen to surpass Wu’s zero acting skills. While there are facial resemblances, let’s hope he doesn’t ‘fill his shoes’ by emulating Wu’s bad moral character.
