Chilam Cheung Celebrates 41st Birthday

Chilam Cheung (張智霖)  celebrated his 41st birthday on August 27th with his wife, Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) and close friends. With Chilam’s youthful looks, it was easy to forget that he had already reach past his forties. The Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II> star opted for a low profile birthday, Chilam celebrated in two simple segments.

Freeing Captive Animals

During the day, Chilam and Anita sailed out to sea with Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and husband to release live captive species free into the water.  The purpose of the act was to pray for good luck for his close friends. As Buddhists, Chilam and Anita believe that releasing animals free was considered an act of compassion that would be rewarded with good karma.

When asked about his birthday wish this year, Chilam replied that his wish is for good health. Chilam said,”Earlier, I had insomnia.  I hope to sleep through the night until the next day!”

Dinner with Close Friends

Afterward, Chilam and Anita had a celebratory dinner with their close friends of many years, which included Christine and her husband, Aaron Kwok (郭富城), Shawn Yue (余文樂), and Shum Ka Wai (沈嘉偉).  Due to Chilam’s love for cars, his friends presented him with a birthday cake shaped as a race car. To show his appreciation, Chilam posted his thanks on Weibo. “Thank you for all the warm wishes from my good friends.  I also hope that everyone’s wishes will come true and good health to all!”

Chilam Kissed by Christine 

After the birthday celebration, Christine posted a picture on Weibo of her giving a kiss to the birthday man, Chilam, which clearly displayed their closeness.  Online friends commented on the picture stating, “What a happy brother and sister!” while others jokingly said, “Be careful that Anita may get jealous!”

Chilam’s good brothers also had a great time during the birthday party. Shawn posted a picture of himself, Chilam, Aaron, and Shum Ka Wai dining together and commented, “Happy Birthday brother!  Wishing you happiness and good health!”
