Chilam Cheung Preps for Malaysia Concert
Chilam Cheung (張智霖), who turned 43 years old on August 27, will be holding his “Chilam Crazy Hours Live in Malaysia” concert in Kuala Lumpur on August 29. Although he had to work on his birthday, he got to celebrate his birthday three times – at the airport with his fans, at the press conference for his concert, and at a celebratory dinner.
Chilam rehearsed for his concert at the Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium on August 28, the day before the concert. He rehearsed with his new microphone, which was a birthday gift from his wife Anita Yuen (袁詠儀). According to Anita, the microphone cost over $100,000 HKD.
Anita, who went to Kuala Lumpur with Chilam, said, “My friends asked me if the microphone had diamonds on it. It’s actually a very handy microphone – it’s plain black and does not look obnoxious. The sound quality is the most important. My friend chose it for me. I gave Chilam a microphone because I want him to have a microphone that’s truly for himself.”
Chilam expressed that he is very satisfied with the microphone’s quality. “The higher the price, the better the quality.”
At a press conference for the concert at the Paradigm Mall, Chilam was greeted by over a hundred fans. Asked why he turned down the offer to star in the second season of the mainland Chinese reality show Dad, Where Are We Going? <爸爸去哪兒> with his 7-year-old son, Morton Cheung (張慕童). Chilam explained that he is too busy with his film and singing career, while adding, “I don’t want my son to get more popular than me!”
Chilam also revealed that Malaysian singer Z-Chen (張智成) and Him Law (羅仲謙) will be the guests at his concert.

I find Chilam looks quite old in those photos though. There are a lots of nicer photos of CL out there but the admin always posts the worst ones for some reason. Same applies to other artists

Chilam Cheung is not super handsome, but he has charm to attract females, probably the way he talks. He has a wonderful voice.
