Chow Yun Fat Celebrates 60th Birthday
Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) celebrated his 60th birthday with his wife Jasmine Tan (陳薈蓮) and a group of fans on May 18. Due to Fat Gor’s easygoing personality, the couple selected a modest restaurant and cake for the celebration.
Jasmine presented Fat Gor with a cake decorated with strawberries. On it was written the words, “Husband, Happy Birthday! Forever joy, your wife.” After taking selfies with Jasmine, Fat Gor took photos with eager fans at the gathering.
Dozens of artistes sent their well wishes to Fat Gor and announced why they loved him so much. Joey Yung (容祖兒), Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), SuperGirls’ Heidi Lee (李静仪), Jinny Ng (吳若希), Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎), and Linda Chung (鐘嘉欣) expressed their respect for Fat Gor, praising the actor for remaining humble, caring, and polite despite being a superstar.
Both Kay Tse (謝安琪) and Rose Chan (陳嘉桓) named Chow Yun Fat’s An Autumn’s Tale <秋天的童話> as one of their favorite movies. Kay expressed, “I really loved Fat Gor in An Autumn’s Tale – that romance film affected my life. A flirty guy like him began such a romantic relationship with Cherie Chung (鐘楚紅) in the movie – it gave me a new perspective on love.”
Hins Cheung (張敬軒) and Stephy Tang (鄧麗欣) said they loved Fat Gor for being a family man and loving husband. Stephy gushed, “I love Fat Gor because he is loyal to his wife – he has almost no gossip about him! He also has great perseverance with his career and personal lifestyle.”
Loved by many, Fat Gor also received compliments from Taiwanese actor Richie Ren (任賢齊). who said, “Fat Gor is my idol – I love all the characters he has portrayed. He is also a very nice person!”
Others commented on Fat Gor’s wonderful acting over the years, and expressed their wish in wanting to work with him.
