Cilla Kung Pranks Fans About Engagement

Hong Kong actress Cilla Kung (樂瞳) recently shocked fans when she posted a photograph of a wedding ring on Instagram and captioned it, “I do.” Many fans left congratulatory comments and expressed their surprise, “Are you really getting married?!”

It was only when reporters contacted Cilla that she clarified that she was not actually getting married. The ring was a prop from Gluttonous Detective <為食神探>, the romantic comedy series she is currently filming. She emphasized that she does not have marriage plans and merely posted the photograph as she felt inspired by the unorthodox setting of the ring – laid in an oyster shell as if it were a pearl.

Cilla published a follow-up post on Instagram to explain, “Thank you for all your well wishes but I’m still single! The ring was a prop used in Gluttonous Detective.

As to whether Cilla is dating anyone, she said candidly, “I’ve been dating someone who’s not from the entertainment industry. I don’t really know how things will go in the future…not ruling out a whirlwind marriage!”
