Crystal Fung Rents Out Apartment She Had Shared with Ex-boyfriend
After breaking up with her doctor boyfriend in December, Crystal Fung (馮盈盈) has moved out of their former co-shared apartment. The pair decided to rent out the apartment and the listing can already be found online.
Crystal and her ex-boyfriend, Martin Chung (鍾文浩), ended their four-year relationship in December. When Crystal burst out in tears while talking to reporters, many fans thought it was a shame to see them split especially since they were already cohabiting to test the waters before getting married. The conflicts of living together proved to be too much for Crystal and Martin, who both prioritized their demanding careers so they finally decided remaining friends was better.
Although the ownership title is under Martin’s name, Crystal had contributed to the down payment. While they were living together, Martin was responsible for paying the mortgage while she took care of the daily expenses.
Coming up with a good solution after their breakup, Crystal and her ex-boyfriend decided to rent out their 565-square-feet apartment for $33,000 HKD per month. In addition to having two rooms and two living rooms, the place comes with a spacious 500-square-feet balcony.
As soon as Crystal posted the listing online with photos of the apartment, keen-eyed netizens realized that a lot of the ex-couple’s old furnishings such as the sofa and cushions in the living room were still there.

at first a balcony almost as big as the apartment made no sense but upon second thought, they live in a tropical climate. other than days that are exceptionally cold or rainy days, they could capitalize on the space better outdoor.
@m0m0
It is not balcony. I checked it out in the original Chinese article. It is “565呎2房2廳連500呎天台”. In English, it should be 565 sq. ft., (2 rooms, living room and dining room) plus the 500 sq. ft. rooftop”. I think that the total area of the apartment is 565 sq. ft., i.e. 2 bedrooms, living and dining rooms, kitchen and bathroom. Perhaps their apartment is on the top floor, so they have the use of the rooftop (500 sq. ft.)
That’s a huge apartment by HK standards
My feeling is they went underground. The split can’t be that amicable for someone who openly and repeatedly admitted she wants to marry him, she is so happy with him, she chooses him…
@funnlim That’s what some of the utube clips were saying too. Really? Does she really think she’s that popular to have underground like some superstar celeb? lol…. I concur w/how she always sounds she’s found Mr. Right and he’s the best bf ever. She even discussed really personal and borderline annoying habits of their cohabiting on that youngsters talk show and suddenly this split announcement.
@funnlim If Crystal went underground with the relationship, it would be easier for Martin to stay living at their apartment after she moved out. But to rent it out (with their former furnishings) tends to signify that their relationship is over.
