“Death By Zero” is Katy Kung’s Most Unforgettable Drama
TVB action drama Death By Zero <殺手>, a series about assassins, will premiere next Monday, June 29. On Thursday, the cast attended a press conference held at TVB City in Tseung Kwan O to promote the drama.
One of the stand-out cast members on the show is Katy Kung (龔嘉欣), who plays the blood-thirsty Dark Angel, a professional assassin. For the role, Katy dyed her hair pink and shaved the side of her head. Her outfits are edgy and revealing, including bra tops and fishnet stockings. It was a very unforgettable role for Katy.
“It was hard for me to accept how I looked until after filming the show,” she said. “Every day, I would go into work hoping for a smooth filming. After everything was done for sure, I immediately added hair extensions, just to calm myself.”
Playing assassins of different factions, Katy and Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) shared many action sequences together. One scene included Wayne pressing his hands on to Katy’s chest. “It was an interesting feeling,” she said. “I have to admit, there was some awkwardness. We were both very sweaty, and I also wasn’t wearing much. We probably had over 30 outtakes of that scene.”
Despite the awkwardness, both Katy and Wayne had to play out like it was nothing. “If we show our awkwardness, the people around us would feel awkward,” said Katy.
Death By Zero also stars Moses Chan (陳豪), Ali Lee (李佳芯), Elena Kong (江美儀), and Samantha Ko (高海寧).

Uugh……..katy kung her looks are oddly weird and her acting is not good and she’s in kick action dramas ??!! idk……….but ill give it a try or Wayne haven’t seen him in action for awhile now plus he gonna have fighting scenes now that ive gotta see =P
I’m sorry but Katy already looks so tired and haggard on a normal day, with this outlook she looks freaky.
I’m probably in the minority that thinks that Katy actually nailed the appearance. She looks fantastic in this edgy sexy clothing. Samantha Ko actually look kinda mismatched from the trailer. Putting such a tall and beautiful woman on a cleanup crew is actually stupid. Should have made her honey trap assassin instead.
@xystus I also think she looks cool. Not sure why she gets a lot of negative posts here. At least she can act better than the majority of fadans in Tvb…
@snoopy I agree with you. Katy acts better than majority of actresses in TVB
@snoopy totally agree, think she looks cool
don’t like her
I can see why this series was warehoused for 2 years, I don’t think it’s all about Ali scandal. This series has bonafide bomb stink all over it. Is it an action comedy or action thriller? This looks and feels exactly like Ages A Part vibe all over it and what a big POS that was. TVBs casting should start focusing on the talent and role, casting two over their prime as the male leads in a series about assassins is so far fetched.
@seriously My Ages Apart is more family themed. I actually enjoyed that drama although I didnt finish it. But from what I watched, there was a huge cast and had many funny scenes. Ali & Moses have great chemistry as an on screen couple. Wow now that I think about it, Ali & Moses were in quite a few dramas together, including Ali’s first lead, Fashion War.
I didnt know there is an age group for assassins. Most TVB leads are 30-50. They should really promote younger actors in early 20s.
@luye Certain actors really only can shine after decades of experiences like wayne lai and frankie lam. You see frankie lam really good acting at older age on current drama.
@xrc56 I agree that experience improves someone’s acting. Back in the day for ex, Tony Leung, Deric Wan etc were given lead roles during their early 20s. However, i dont remember the last drama where TVB had a young male lead.
@luye you’re right, after the old crop of leads (Bosco, LF, Ron, Sammul) they haven’t had any young leads. The most recent one is probably Hubert in Exorcist Meter, but he is alrdy 30.
@bubbles23 Exactly; and also Matthew Ho. Karl Ting is young but i dont think he’s getting lead roles anytime soon. I wonder why TVB doesnt promote young men.
@luye ew pls no Karl Ting. He’s totally in it just for the fame. Matthew Ho had a horrendous voice when he started but is getting better. Imo all their young male actors just lack a certain charisma that that Bosco, LF, Ron all had. No one screams STAR to me.
@luye i dont even find tony leung and deric wan were good in their early days. Just that good looking. Experiences need time to gain. Only Raymond lam is successful as a young male lead so far.
@xrc56 I love Raymond! Deric is a natural in being the bad guy in Looking Back in Anger & The Breaking Point. His acting is honestly great. I didnt watch many of Tony Leung’s dramas, but he caught my eye in The Grand Canal!
