Denice Lam Denies Attending Private “Rich Man’s Dinner”
Miss Hong Kong 2022 winner, Denice Lam (林鈺洧), 28, has been embroiled in controversy since her crowning. Allegedly, Denice, Kayee Tam (譚嘉儀), and Miss Hong Kong 2020 runner-up, Celina Harto (陳楨怡), attended a “private dinner” organized by an executive director of a publicly traded company. These “private dinners” are notorious for inviting attractive actresses from the entertainment industry and introducing them to rich men who are willing to pay for their company.
According to reports, Denice, Kayee, and Celina attended the dinner in rather revealing clothing, such as midriffs and short skirts. Constant laughter and toasting came from the VIP room. The three women allegedly took photos and mingled with the rich.
Often in the news for negative coverage, Denice reacted to the news and wrote on social media:
“I always hoped to do good things and be a kind person. I always believed one can do nice things anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. The company organized an event for us to pass out mooncakes and attend a dinner with the organizers of a disability charity group. There is no need for us to exchange contact information or get in touch with anyone, because the company organized everything. I only wanted to do charity work during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Handing out mooncakes to the disabled and elderly can somehow turn into negative false news. I do not know [the man] mentioned in these reports. We only attended the same event and do not have other communications with one another.”
Similarly, Celina also said she was at the charity event and it was her “first time meeting” the organizers. She denied reports she was there beyond work-related matters. “This false news may also bring unwanted negativity to the charity organization. I feel very helpless and unhappy about this. I hope this piece of news will not negatively impact the charity organization or the elderly and those in need they are hoping to help.”

Does she not have a good management company? Why does she keep getting bad press?
I don’t think she is attending these dinner parties to sleep with rich men. Looks wise, she is not super attractive, even though she won Miss HK. And even worse, when she speaks, you can tell she is not eloquent and the type that knows how to mingle and network with people. She is too honest and not well rounded enough to survive this industry. Nor does it seem like her character to be sleeping around with people for money. I don’t know her personally but I think she comes across as a person with good morals and upright values.
