Jayne: Denise Ho’s sexual orientation has been an open secret by now. Although why is she teasing us about changing sexual orientation down the road?

  1. Maybe what she meant is being a lesbian and not going back to being straight?

  2. @ Jayne

“Although why is she teasing us about changing sexual orientation down the road?”

She just mean to say she’s bisexual.

To me, what she meant is, her love is not hindered by the sex of the person. She can have love feelings towards people of either sex. She love the person not the gender.

  3. i dont think someone should be labeled or a matter of gay, les, bisexual or whatever.. love is love. I think she means to say you never know what’s gonna happen in life or who you will meet in your life, someone can be gay but one day meet a great person that happens to be the opposite sex that they will fall in love with.

    1. Agreed. If a man and woman married for 10+ plus years and all of a sudden the husband turns out to be gay then we’d have to accept it. Things like this are unexpected and you never know what’s going to happen.

Denise is just letting everyone know that there’s always that slight possibility that it will happen. Like the old saying, “Expect the unexpected.”

      1. But if you can’t make up your mind as to which gender you love/prefer, don’t you think you’re confusing yourself AND others unfairly? Make up your mind and stick to it!

      2. @ Funn: Unfortunately, sometimes it’s not that easy. I mean, if you’re confused yourself, how can you be sure that the label you’re sticking to truly defines you (in terms of sexual orientation)?

      3. @Funn Lim, not everyone is sure of their “real” orientation as some have not discovered it themselves. Each person is different and you even have famous politicians or celebrities that came out of the shell saying “I’m gay” or “I’m a lesbian.” All I’m saying is that every individual has their own stage of development, some figures it out faster than others and some are slow. You just can’t force someone to know it right away. I can honestly say that I once questioned my own sexual orientation when I was in high school. I know it sounds weird but it’s true. It took me awhile to figure it out until I realize that I like guys and not the same sex.

      4. I totally agree with you. I thought I was straight until I met this girl who I had deep feelings for.

You can say what your preference is, but you can’t be sure of what will happen in the future.

@ Funn, life is full of suprises. Don’t bore yourself

      5. @Suki I LIKE your phrase, “life is full of surprises, don’t bore yourself.” It applies to many aspects in life and that’s one of the reasons that makes it worth living. 🙂

  4. I personally think that Denise has a male personality. If she’s a lesbian then I can see her taking on the male role. She can be teasing us her real sexual orientation, but I would see it as she’s telling us the truth about this matter. Denise is probably being mysterious with us and maybe it’ll shock us? Who knows but whatever her sexual orientation is I’ll gladly accept it. She gives me the impression that she’s straight forward, honest, righteous, and the feeling of “a friend in need is a friend in deed.”

Do a lot of people think that she’s a lesbian?

  5. Does anyone know any good songs by Denise Ho? I don’t know one and I’ve listened to cantopop for ughhh 14 years+ …

    1. I like ‘Rolls Royce’ (勞斯.萊斯). The melody is nice. But, what interesting is the lyrics. Very ambiguous too.

    2. Me neither. And I’ve been trying to find out what’s so special about her.

Kidd, is that her big-hit song? Can’t be, right? It sounds like some background music they like to play at overseas HK-style cafes. Do you know which song made her famous?

    3. I only like 2 songs from her. “Sand” and “forget” from her 2003 album called Dress Me Up!

  6. It’s quite obvious that she behaves like a male more than a female. Why don’t she just admit it that she’s bisexual?

    1. Why does anyone have to “admit” being anything?

      1. Not anyone, but those in the public eye. One day when no one bothers, then you’re out of the game. Not that she needs to admit. It is an open secret on her sexual orientation. She is probably being coy.

      2. agree totally… you only need to explain to yourselft who you are .. no to others.. as long as you know who you are inside, you are the real YOU..

  7. Marriage is between man and a woman. Period! Call me traditional, conservative, feudal, anachronism, unprogressive but the fact is love between man and a woman is primordial essence or fundamental aspect of the universe. It just the natural order of existence.

    1. Can’t say I disagree with you but then how to deny love? Isn’t love in itself the most natural order of existence?

    2. The article mentions nothing about marriage. I would place a certain doubt on the sanctity of marriage given the divorce rate and whatnot.

I agree with Funn’s comment there. How does one deny love?

But yes, from reading the article, she seems to be quite coy about it but more importantly – open minded.

Just out of curiosity, is her sexual preference that much of an open secret? I’ve heard rumors of her with a particular singer but am unsure how valid the claims are.

Although her music isn’t always my thing, she is definitely one of the more passionate musicians in HK right now. She’s talented and very intelligent but seemingly not always recognised enough.
