Denying Marriage News, Jessica Hsuan Bought Million Dollar House for Parents
Jessica Hsuan reportedly spent more than $10 million (HKD) on a detached house in Sai Kung recently. The house was alleged bought for use after Jessica got married. Allegedly, Jessica’s veterinarian boyfriend, Ruan Bester, successfully asked for her hand in marriage on Valentine’s Day. Rumors claimed that Jessica agreed to Ruan’s proposal and the wedding will take place overseas early next year!
When reporters contacted Jessica, she noted that the recent rumors were false and that Ruan did not propose yet. “The only truth in the news was that I did purchase a new property. The house will not be used for after marriage. I love to go house-hunting. After seeing numerous properties for sale, my parents liked this one, so I bought it.”
Did Jessica watch the real estate market for a good trend prior to the purchase? “I did not pay attention to these matters. I just wanted to buy it.” Did Jessica also look at properties for after marriage use? “Let him (Ruan) look at it! We do not have plans to get married yet!”

Jayne: Jessica seems very happy with Ruan…she said from all the relationships, he may have valued her the most and placed her as top priority compared to past boyfriends. I wouldn’t be surprised if wedding bells come soon.

Actually she is very westernised so I am not surprised she chose a westerner. I would be very surprised if say she marries an actor from China, which is the trend these days.
Really? I did not know that Jessica was that westernized. I guess the only one that I can remember that is not westernized and married someone non asian is Ning Jing.
HeTieShou: She was schooled in Britain, I think that’s why she’s probably more accustomed to Western culture. But this is her first public caucasian boyfriend? I don’t remember her previous bfs being caucasian.
Oh not to mention there are a lot of foreigners living in HK now. So I wouldn’t be surprised that even if someone wasn’t westernised that they would date/marry a caucasian/foreigner.

Thanks for the info and yea, Ruan is her first caucasian boyfriend that we know of. The other ones were asian/chinese. But I don’t think race should matter if you love a person. Congrats to Jessica and they look like such a sweet couple…
They make a lovely couple. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already hitched like many couples who claim they’re not married or do not plan to get married.
That is one expensive house she bought for her parents, where does she get all the money from? I haven’t seen her act in a series for awhile…
I hope that she does legally get married since I don’t find just living together and dating without marriage a good thing at all. Maybe they are already secretly married and will not announce it until later?? Only time will tell but I hope that they will share their good news with everyone.

compare her with Raymond Lam or Charmaine, i don’t think Jessica is ‘rich’. besides she has been in the showbiz way before these 2, so enough investments here and there. certainly she can buy an expensive place easily.. =)
Well she has been filming for many years and is pretty popular with the audience, so she should have quite a bit of money if she saved up well. I don’t think you need to be really rich to own a property in HK.
Another one following in the shoes of Maggie Cheung thinking that linking onto a white guy will make them stand out in the crowd and “better” than the rest of the local HK Chinese people. Give them about two years and then she’ll realize that these types of arrangements don’t fit into Asian societies and then she’ll probably lose half of what she has in the divorce. How racist! my aunt met my uncle (who is Caucasian) when they she was 17 (and he was 19), got engaged when she was 19 and married when they had completed university and were working. They moved to Hong Kong over 15 years ago and are still happily married. Yes, the Western celebrities shine a rather deceiving light with their ho hums and changing of partners, but i do not think you can say that the Hong Kong celebrities are heads and shoulders above them. Look at all the women dating older tycoons! And the secret affairs!I live in Australia and have seen many mixed couples. Modern western fathers are more inclined to be active in the household chores and care of children. I’m not saying either is better. It’s just preference, i guess.

Yea, Dicky married 张茜, an actress from China 10 years his junior. She starred with him in Wong Jing’s remake of Duke of Mt. Deer in 2000. She played Mu Jian Ping. They met during a series that he was filming in the mainland in 1999. They got married in 2009.
Jessica’s new house is about 16.7 million $HK, it nearly 20 million not over 10 million haha (just kiding). And Jessica spent about 1 million for reparing and buying something new for her new house. I think Jessica is rich and she could buy anything she likes, look back a few years, her career is nearly the same Ah Sheh nowadays.

A detached house in HK for HKD10 million?? That sounds very cheap. Any middle working class person should be able to afford that by paying installment over 20-30 years. I don’t think Jessica needs to be very rich to do that.
I am so happy for Jessica and not surprise at all that she picks a Westerner as a boyfriend. He seems like a very low-key person and down to earth, so I wish them the best. Married or not, who cares, they look like they are already married, what is another piece of paper. In regards to the house, she has been in the industries long enough to have money for such property, so I am not surprise at all. And I don’t think she uses his money, she does not strike me as a gold-digger, rather a very independent woman who spends her own money.
I agree that Jessica seems pretty independent and like to make and spend her own money. This may change after she has kids, but for now she seems pretty independent.
I don’t agree that your marriage license is just a piece of paper. That piece of paper will bind Jessica and Ruan together and isn’t any old piece of paper. That piece of paper will have a lot of power. I hope that they will eventually legally marry because I don’t find just dating and living together with no marriage license a good or healthy thing for any relationship.

Since there were earlier reports on Jessica and her boyfriend, I googled him and from what I read on the other sites, people claimed that he wasn’t a good guy. I don’t exactly remember what the exact claims about Ruan were, but they were not positive.
Really?? I remember that Jessica herself said that Ruan is a really nice guy with a kind heart. She at times had to stand up for him since others were taking advantage of him. If what Jessica said is true then everyone should believe her since she should be the one that knows him best.
I also wanted to add, if he was truly that bad as people say, I highly doubt that Jessica would be with him and even consider marrying him.I heard that her parents even like him, so I think he isn’t as bad as some may think. Maybe it is because they don’t know him very well or he may not give a good first impression. However, that doesn’t imply that he is a bad person. I know some people that give really good first impressions but not are not nice people at all, while there are others that may not give a good first impression but are great people. You just have to take the time to get to know them.
@HeTieShou I don’t remember what the exact claims were, but it wasn’t something good. I was confused as I read about Ruan on JayneStars first and I decided to google him for some reason. I also remember reading all the positive things Jessica said about Ruan so the different claims in these two sources really torn my judgment apart.
I agree that no one is perfect and that we should be able to forgive. However, there’s always this very small chance that he’ll do it again if he did it before. I’m definitely not saying that what I read was true, but I’m just curious to know why there were so many differences between those two sources. I too think that Jessica wouldn’t consider marrying him if he was that type of person, but Jessica seems genuinely happy with him so best wishes to her!

Do you have the links? I would like to read it and see… Maybe they are just rumours, who really knows if they are true or not? But like I have said, Jessica knows him best so I am sure that if he did do those things, they are all in the past. I am sure that she has forgiven him and focuses on all of the good things about him rather than the bad things. Who was saying these things about him anyways?? If they are the asian netizens, I really question their claims. I wonder if they just look down on Ruan because he is a foreigner??

Do you have any other articles and are they in Chinese instead? The article that you showed me sounds really confusing and unclear.. BUT, even if it was true, it is something of the past. If it was true, then I don’t think Jessica would even consider marrying Ruan so I really wonder how true it is. Even the article itself was only speculating if the claims were true or not…
@HeTieShou, I can’t read Chinese fully so I don’t read Chinese sources although I know they might be a little more credible. I too had doubt about this article when I read it, but since I’m not a Jessica fan, I didn’t look further into it to see if it was true or not.
It was about a year ago when I searched him and I never bookmarked those articles. I just googled it now to show you the link. If you’re interested, just google him and see what comes up. Or even better, if you can read Chinese, those sources might be more original and reliable.

I am not the biggest fan of Jessica but do like her and was really sad to hear that she and Dicky broke up years ago.I thought they were such a great couple and loved each other. But I am happy that she finally found someone like Ruan who seems to love her so much.
From what I know about Jessica, she is pretty intelligent and independent as you have said. I don’t think she would even consider marrying Ruan if he was truly that bad.

But I’m sure there is more to the story that we don’t know about. Perhaps this was all in the past as well. People change and he may no longer be this “bad” guy as the HK media is making him out to be. They probably only brought it up as he is also dating Jessica,

Thanks for the info but what was all that talk about this embezzlement?? I have never heard of that. Can you tell me more about it?? Even if so, I am sure that is the past and there is more to the story than we think. If he was truly that bad, then I don’t think Jessica would want to be with him and consider marrying him.. No one is perfect and everyone has a past(some are a lot worse than others of course)and as long as he has changed for the better, then I don’t think we should hold it against him. As you have said, I bet they are only mentioning it because he is dating Jessica.
I like Jessica as she has such a spontaneous and refreshing outlook and seems such a guinine type of person. So, I hope Ruan is nice too and decent in all ways towards her. I’ve always wondered , too, how some of the actors have so much money to buy a house in HK. In the West a vet can earn a lot of money, as much as a doctor but I don’t know about HK. If he has a clinic there maybe he can earn quite a bit thus doing his bit by helping Jessica financially. I read somewhere that she was educated in England and secured a degree from the prestigious Imperial College ranking 3rd after Oxford and Cambridge.
