Dilireba Has Reportedly Parted Ways with Jay Walk Studio
After months of speculation, it was reported this week that Dilireba (迪丽热巴) may have officially parted ways with Jay Walk Studio after six years of management.
The source said the Uyghur actress may have already secretly signed with Huace, the studio that also manages Hu Yitian (胡一天). Her next project is allegedly Chang Ge Xing <長歌行>, a TV drama based on the manhua of the same name.
Talks of Dilireba leaving Jay Walk Studio have been circulating since the production of Eternal Love of Dream <三生三世枕上书>, which premiered in January 2020. Many fans have publicly shared their displeasure with Jay Walk Studio for their neglect of Dilireba, who had no acting work for a period of eight months between 2018 and 2020.
Eternal Love of Dream, spin-off to the 2017 series Eternal Love <三生三世十里桃花>, was filmed in the summer of 2018. Dilireba’s next series was Love Advanced Customization <爱情高级定制>, which started production in September 2019.
Fans also accused Jay Walk for their mistreatment of Dilireba; during the promotional era for Eternal Love of Dream, Dilireba only had one teaser trailer, while her costar Vengao Gao (高伟光) had several. Even Yang Mi (杨幂), who only made a small guest appearance in the series, had more exposure.
Fans theorized that Dilireba may be at the end of her contract, and that she had chosen to not renew it.
Jay Walk Studio was co-created by Yang Mi in 2013. The agency is credited for bringing fame to Dilireba, who became a household name after starring in Eternal Love. Jay Walk Studio also manages Vin Zhang (张彬彬) and formerly Hawick Lau (劉愷威).
