Dilireba’s “Eternal Love of Dream” Breaks 190 Million Views On First Day of Release
The fantasy romance series Eternal Love of Dream <三生三世十枕上书>, better known as The Pillow Book, has broken 190 million views after only one day of release, a demonstration of the widespread popularity and influence of its main star, Dilireba (迪丽热巴).
The Uyghur actress stars as the nine-tailed red fox Bai Fengjiu, the only spirit of her kind, who captures the heart of many with her kind heart and innocence. She admires and idolizes Dong Hua, the Heaven Clan’s leader, and often dreams about staying by his side. Dong Hua is played by Vengo Gao (迪丽热巴).
As a young and active fox spirit, Bai Fengjiu is jumpy and naturally curious. When she accidentally stumbles upon an enemy tribe and becomes their target, Dong Hua feels obligated to protect her, kicking off a star-crossed romance. Grateful of Dong Hua of saving her, she swears to be Dong Hua’s eternal protector.
Eternal Love of Dream is an official spin-off sequel to the 2017 hit series Eternal Love <三生三世十里桃花> which starred Yang Mi (杨幂) and Mark Chao (趙又廷). Both Dilireba and Venmo Gao had appeared in the series with their original roles.
Filmed in 2018, the series went through a series of postponements before it was finally approved to be aired this month. Originally slated to be aired in 2019, reports have said that the series was not suitable for broadcast after new restrictions were placed on Chinese TV shows last year by the National Radio and Television Administration.
Eternal Love of Dream is currently available to be streamed on China’s Tencent Video, Taiwan’s WeTV, and Hong Kong’s ViuTV, with two new episodes every week.
