Dylan Wang Grows Alongside His Character In “The Woman Who Cannot Fall In Love”

Upcoming romantic drama The Woman Who Cannot Fall In Love <无法恋爱的理智派> stars Qin Lan (秦岚) as a woman who falls in love with a much younger man, portrayed by Dylan Wang (王鹤棣). The 22-year-old actor was very nervous walking into the set, knowing that he’ll be working closely alongside the Story of Yanxi Palace <延禧攻略> star. But Qin Lan led him well, and helped him ease into the work environment. Dylan enjoyed the experience, and learned a lot about himself along the way.

“Lan Jie is very warm and accepting,” said Dylan. “She took care of me well, and helped me lighten the stress load.”

The actor stars as Qi Xiao, who is not only confident about what he wants, but also appreciates the small details of life. Dylan himself has a lot to learn from his character, who treads on life with no regrets. 

“He’s very diligent. He gives you the impression that can move through all obstacles in life,” said Dylan. “He’s especially confident when it comes to loving someone. He’s admirable and we should all look up to him. When he loves a woman, he considers everything about her and finds solutions for her. He’s honestly a little too perfect.”

While Qi Xiao is the kind to boldly chase after love, what is Dylan’s kind? The actor said, “I prefer girls who are straightforward, who is good at communicating what she wants. Not wishy-washy.” 

Asking if he’s every thought about his own marriage in the future, he said, “It’s still very far away. I feel that before I start my own family, I must establish my career first.” Dylan emphasized the importance of stability before starting a family. “I’ll only start thinking about starting a family when I think I’m prepared.”
