Edwin Siu and Aimee Chan Hopes to Keep Love Lives Private
Ascending to leading stars, Edwin Siu (萧正楠) and Aimee Chan (陈茵媺) feel uncomfortable that their love lives are constantly in the press. Filming dramas back-to-back, they hope that viewers would focus on their onscreen performances rather than gossip about their love lives.
In A Great Way to Care 2 <仁心解码II>, Edwin and Aimee played a pair of bickering friends who later became lovers. Playing lovers for the second time, there was no awkwardness between the two artists despite rumors linking both of them when they worked together in Forensic Heroes 3 <法证先锋III>. Aimee said, “Those are words made up by others. Being an artist, it’s important not to let those things affect our emotions.”
Edwin agreed, “If we let such small things get to us, then it’s difficult to be a good actor. We must learn to ignore these negative energy and just move forward.”
Fast Rise, Fast Fall
About ten years ago, Edwin rose quickly after he won a singing competition and won the Best Newcomer award in the same year. However, Edwin made a careless remark about Juno Mak (麥浚龍) which caused him to be snubbed. Now that Edwin is once again heavily favored and is quickly ascending to the status of siu sang, gossip reports about him begun to surface once again.
The latest news claim that Edwin is looked down upon by his rumored girlfriend Gigi Ho’s (何傲芝) father due to Edwin’s light pockets. Although they were spotted on dates together, Edwin denied that Gigi is his girlfriend. Regardless, he felt he did not have to account his love life to others.
Edwin said, “Why is everything I do being judged? Wherever I go, there will be people looking at me, taking photographs of me. We are actors but that does not mean that outside of our work, our lives are public. Even when we go travelling, we are constantly being photographed, as was the case with Shawn Yue (余文乐) and Kary Ng (吴雨霏). Actually, it’s a very normal thing for two young people to fall in love and go out together so why should we account to others about our personal life?”
Edwin is more forthcoming when his work is mentioned. Having gone through up and down periods, he knows nothing in the industry is guaranteed. However, he is hopeful that like, Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), he will finally be able to reap his rewards if he continues to work hard.
High Profile Relationship
Though the media has been reporting favorably on her relationship with Moses Chan (陈豪), Aimee still feels troubled by the attention. Aimee said, “The press always asks about the future of our relationship. I don’t know how our future will unfold. Whether it’s my work or love life, I like to take things naturally so that I can experience and enjoy life. Regarding my personal life, I won’t mention nor will I talk about it.”
It was a notable recognition when Aimee was nominated for Best Actress at last year’s TVB Awards for her performance in The Last Steep Ascent < 天梯>. Moving forward, Aimee hopes to be able to experience different kinds of roles, especially portraying a first-time villain. Even if viewers were to scold her villain character, that can only mean her portrayal is successful so she is not afraid to go that route.

Good Show
i very love the scene when Alex return home n he shock with Tavia in his house with Yoyo. So sad n touched by Tavia said tat”I have no friend anymore. I just want to talk with u. ” .Very brillant performance from Tavia in tis few final episode making my emotional up n down.
Indeed. She has done very well. I feel so sad for her. Her last scene where she killed herself.
Good job Tavia.
Wow, what happened to TVB dramas? When did all this Christian propaganda enter mainstream TV in Hong Kong? What’s with all the talk about god, heaven and hell?
It has always been there. Ever notice in times of trouble characters run to a church? More appealing I see. Why not run to a temple?
Aimee,
I do like you, sometimes. You’re better than others give you credit for. However, everyone agrees you are where you are today because of him. You are not as famous as you think you are so frankly, milk the relationship more. I know you genuinely love Moses, I see how you treat him on shows, seems real and affectionate but by avoiding questions of your relationship, by just the body of your work, I am afraid no one will be bothered in future. So let’s just all pretend not to pretend shall we? You like your success, you want your fame, you got the guy who is (not) deservingly more famous than you and who has of course pulled some strings for you. You rode on his success to carve your own success so let’s throw away the hypocrisy and just bloody answer the questions.
Sincerely,
Funn
No, don’t milk the relationship more – my eyes can’t take seeing much more of her onscreen. Please improve the acting.
What was with Tavia shooting the car’s fuel tank and not getting like…burnt…like a normal human being standing 2 feet away from an exploding car should…?
Aimee, are you sure about keeping your love life private? It definitely doesn’t seem like so
Hmm, but are we too used to celebrities hiding? If they feel comfortable with public displays of affection, then so be it. A lot of regular couples do that – they just don’t make the news, that’s all…
Anyway, I think she means she won’t openly discuss the relationship with the media, but that doesn’t mean she has to run and hide or be overly cautious with her actions.
