Edwin Siu is Forced into COVID-19 Quarantine
Hong Kong is currently battling the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections and many more cases have been confirmed within the past few days. As TVB has continued their filming projects without interruption, it is inevitable that artistes would eventually come into contact with positive cases. Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) is the latest artiste who has gone into quarantine.
Filming for a new food and drink show for the MyTV Super platform on November 18, Edwin was in close contact with a restaurant employee who was tested positive for COVID-19. Unaware of the confirmed case at the time, Edwin participated in the TVB Anniversary Gala show on November 19 where artistes attended without wearing face masks.
Taking precautions, TVB asked all of the 205 artistes who participated in the Anniversary to be tested for COVID-19. All results have come back negative, but the station shut down two filming studios and the makeup room for sanitizing.
When the press reached out to Priscilla Wong (黃翠如), she declined to comment on her husband Edwin’s situation and thanked everyone for their concern.
Edwin later went on Instagram to assure everyone that he is doing fine while quarantined at home. Uploading a photo of himself on Instagram, he left a sweet message for Priscilla, “I feel so blessed that we are together every day, but during the times when we are apart…I am still here.” Later in the evening, he uploaded a clip where Edwin thanked everyone for their concern. “I am currently in quarantine. I was filming on November 18 and around 9 p.m. last night, I received a call from the Department of Health informing me that someone I was in close contact with was diagnosed with COVID-19. According to the law, I would have to accept staying in quarantine. I have gone through testing and the preliminary results are negative. I hope everyone can persevere through this pandemic.” He ended the clip joking that he needed to go wipe the floors ensuring that everything is clean and virus free.

It’s inevitable that someone with come in contact the virus. I was already skeptical that tvb had everyone on stage maskless… They are lucky if it doesn’t turn into a super spreader event.
