Ellyn Ngai Wins Miss Hong Kong 2024
The Miss Hong Kong 2024 pageant final was held on September 15 at TVB City. The 15 contestants put in their best efforts to showcase their beauty and talents. Ellyn Ngai (倪樂琳), 23, was crowned the winner, while Emily Leung (梁嘉莹), 22, was first runner-up and Amina Yeung (楊梓瑤), 21, was second runner-up.
With the Talent Goddess Award a new addition to the pageant this year, many contestants tried their best to stand out during their performances. Some memorable performances included Kanis Yu’s (俞可程) sultry aerial yoga, Emily Leung’s Chinese drumming, and Amina Yeung who sang with Beijing Opera coupled with fan dance. Clary Wu’s (吳芷靖) sword dance left a deep impression on the audience especially after she dropped her sword but calmly carried on. Even Elena Kong (江美儀) couldn’t help but praise her. In the end Amina defeated Clary to win the audience’s votes for the award.
After the 15 contestants did a walk around the stage showing off their silver swimsuits, the top 10 were announced. They included Ellyn Ngai (倪樂琳), Candice Wong (王汛文), Zoie Tse (謝淑怡), Yvonne Qin (秦冀雯), Kerry Lo (盧凱怡), Clarys, Emily, Tracy Chung (鍾翠詩), Amina, and Kanis. Although Rose Chen (陳甜甜) was one of the favorites from the preliminary rounds and many were shocked that she was eliminated.
The swimsuit question-and-answer session followed, the pageant had invited 100 people to provide questions but many of them stumped the contestants. In the end, Amina’s silly but original answer of “rice with two dishes plus mango pomelo sago” won her the award with 74 votes.
After Emily was crowned Miss Photogenic, she joined the top four together with Ellyn, Kanis, and Amina. The four contestants debated on the topics of universal washrooms and marriage without cohabitation. Except for Ellyn, the other three seemed nervous when speaking, and their Cantonese pronunciation led to difficulty getting their ideas across. This also led to moments where it seemed like they were fighting to speak.
At the end Sally Yeh (葉蒨文) led a group of new and upcoming singers to perform a medley of classic songs. Continuing on that high note, Ellyn was crowned the winner and Emily and Amina were the runner-ups.

i find her brainless at final debate, very inconfortable on lgbt subjet… absoluly not MICHELLE REIS level
Clary Wu should have taken the throne. Miss Photogenic might not mean pretties, probably just means most eye catching. Second runner up earned her spot fair and square. 0 debate there.
