Fala Chen On Her New Movie “The Ballad of a Small Player”
Despite focusing on developing her career in Hollywood, Fala Chen (陳法拉) still maintains a presence in Hong Kong. Yesterday, she flew to Hong Kong to attend a jewelry brand event for a few hours but revealed she would fly back home to New York City that same night.
Fala was eager to return home to take care of her infant son, Micah, who is not yet three months old. On whether she and her husband, Emmanuel Straschnov, plan to grow their family and have more children, Fala laughingly expressed, “Let me take a break first! Right now, we have a daughter and a son, and I feel very happy and content.”
After gaining international recognition in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Fala followed up with more Hollywood projects, including the miniseries Irma Vep and movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
In her new movie The Ballad of a Small Player, Fala will have many scenes opposite Colin Farrell. After the two met by chance, Colin’s character will go through major changes. Their relationship embodies both friendship and romantic love in the movie. Expressing that this is her biggest role to-date in Hollywood, Fala is excited about the opportunity to work alongside the Golden Globe Awards winning actor.
Filming for The Ballad of a Small Player will take approximately two months. Due to having young children and not wanting to be apart from them for too long, Fala’s husband and two children will be accompanying her in Hong Kong and Macau during shooting.
