Felix Wong’s Wife Recovering from Scurvy

Felix Wong’s (黃日華) daughter, actress Adrian Wong (黃芷晴), has assured the public that her mother, former TVB actress Leung Kit Wah (梁潔華), is currently recovering well from scurvy, a rare disease caused by a deficiency of vitamin C.

In November 2013, Leung Kit Wah was suddenly admitted to the hospital and was sent to the hospital’s intensive care unit. At the time of her admittance, it was speculated that Leung Kit Wah was suffering from leukemia, but Adrian’s manager later clarified that Leung Kit Wah was diagnosed with scurvy. She was discharged from the hospital a month later.

In a recent recording for i-Cable’s food program Tasty Bureau <為食情報局>, Adrian gave an update on her mother’s current condition; she clarified that her mother is recuperating extremely well and thanked everyone for their concerns. “After the hospital experience, she can now fully understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle,” said Adrian.

Her mother’s one-month stay in the hospital made Adrian realize that she had always taken her mother’s cooking for granted. Adrian expressed her difficulty in coming up with daily meals for the family.

“My father and I cooked during the New Year’s. We wanted to make something good for my mother. When she was still in the hospital, she suddenly told us that she wanted to drink beef tea. It wasn’t until after my father and I bought a lot of beef home when we realized that we actually didn’t know how to make it, so in the end we had to call my mother for help.”

Adrian praised her mother for being a strong woman and an excellent cook. “She’s good at making everything. Her fish soup is my favorite.”

Although her schedules are piling up for the remainder of 2014, Adrian insisted that she would always make room for some quality family time. “I will try my best to eat meals with my parents and spend time with them.”
