Fiona Yuen Choi Wan recently disclosed that she will be getting married on March 28, 2009 to restaurant boss, Antony. After the marriage, the couple will reside in Canada.
Since the pace of life in Canada is slower, Fiona intends to take a Marketing Management classes after marriage. This will allow Fiona to further her studies and also assist her fiancé in promoting the restaurant. Fiona does not intend to work at the restaurant’s cash register, as she may not directly self-pocket the restaurant’s future earnings.
Fiona’s manager, assistant and sisters have assisted her with various aspects of the wedding planning. Her wedding gown is still subject to change, as due to the recent excitement, Fiona lost some weight. She has two weeks left to do exercise and quit eating beef and chocolate before the wedding day.
Fiona’s fiancé, Antony, proposed with a 3 carat diamond ring. Her grandmother sent $4 million (Yuan) worth of ginseng to ensure Fiona being her best form on her wedding day. Laughing, Fiona said that she has not used the ginseng yet, but appreciated her grandmother’s love. She realized that sending a gift of ginseng another meaning, however, she does not intend to have children yet.
Fiona will take two or three days off before her wedding to prepare for the big day. The honeymoon will take place in Bali or the Maldives. After marriage, Fiona’s fiancé is not opposed to her wishing to continue to work.
Fiona and Antony invited approximately 220 guests to their wedding. Only a dozen of Fiona’s friends in the entertainment industry were invited. Even her friend, Chu Ling Ling, may not be able to attend. Their wedding will be very simple, as Fiona will wear a white wedding dress, a traditional red Chinese bridal gown, and an evening dress. Upon seeing the many well wishes her friends have left on her Facebook blog, Fiona felt moved but did not respond. She felt somewhat embarrassed in neglecting friends [and being unable to include them in the wedding].
Born in Germany, Fiona noted that it is a local custom to break a number of plates and cups at the wedding banquet; this is intended to bring good luck to the newlyweds. However, since the banquet will be held in Hong Kong, Fiona will not carry out the German wedding customs, as this may disrupt the guests in attendance.

Jayne: Many congratulations to Fiona. Although her roles at TVB were minor, I have always enjoyed her acting. Hope there will be good media coverage of her wedding in the next two weeks!
