Flora Chan’s Educational-Themed Show “After School” Has High Ambitions
Flora Chan (陳慧珊) attended Hong Kong Open TV’s 2019 Sales Presentation and introduced her new educational-themed show, After School <放學後>. She will be taking on the role of producer and host. For the first episode, Flora interviewed parents, teachers, and students for over 20 hours and shared many of her personal stories showing her dedication towards the success of the show.
“My husband and I came up with the idea for this show. I thought of 15 different missions for our guests and the challenging part about my show is that there is no script and no set format. Everything just flows naturally around the guest’s life lesson. The show has been in the works for three years and I have been discussing with the guests for about two and a half years! Each episode will be catered towards each guests’ personality and I hope to film it in a documentary drama style,” Flora said.
She has invited John Tsang (曾俊華), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Jessica Hsuan (宣萱), Michael Wong (王敏德), and Roy Tsui (林日曦) to share their life stories. When asked which guest left the most memorable impression, Flora teased that the audience would have to watch the show to find out.
In terms of raising children, Flora has her own philosophy. “Rather than always being a figure of authority that can do no wrong, I feel that I learn a lot from children as well. Based on their behaviors, I am able to understand what they need. I hope to gain more experience and knowledge so that I am able to provide the proper guidance. Of course there will be times where I need to lead them back onto the correct path, but I don’t have any guidelines on how what this path should be.”
