Florinda Ho Goes on Shopping Spree to Heal Breakup Wounds
The media was unable to contact Joel Chan (陳山聰) and Florinda Ho (何超雲) for questioning since their rumored breakup over the founding of their fashion business together. Joel’s whereabouts are unknown, and Florinda is away in England. With no other choice, reporters have been waiting outside the house of Florinda’s mother, Ina Chan (陳婉珍). She is the third wife of casino tycoon, Stanley Ho (何鴻燊).
Stanley visited Ina at her house yesterday, and he was spotted leaving in a car at 5 PM. When reporters approached, Stanley did not open the blinds to greet them. When Joel and Florinda were dating, Florinda’s family had given her a lot of support despite the constant negative gossip Joel was dating her due to her family wealth. Florinda’s family wished her happiness and hoped for her to get married quickly.
Currently on a shopping spree to heal her pain from the breakup, Florinda shared what she bought on Weibo. She posted photos of a pair of Delfina Delettre earrings and a Proenza Schouler purse. Yesterday, she also uploaded a photo of her corn chips from breakfast. No sugar or milk was added, which made the food look awfully dry. Could it be that Florinda was trying to represent her feelings after the breakup?
On the other hand, since Joel could not be reached, producer Lee Tim Shing (李添勝) said that there would definitely be a new drama role for him if he returns to TVB. Lee Tim Shing reported that Joel’s relationship with Florinda started while filming Bottled Passion <我的如意狼君>.
When Joel later refused to film for an anniversary series, TVB stopped contacting him with new roles until Lee Tim Shing offered him a role in The Last Steep Ascent <天梯>. At the time, Joel was already deeply in love with Florinda.

I honestly don’t believe he’s in it just for the money. He’s pretty well off himself without her, it’s a plus that she’s rich but not like he was living in dirt before meeting her.
There’s gonna be gold digger rumors for everyone she dates if they aren’t as rich as her. It’s something she has to live with. Joel’s fairly good looking too. I’m probably in the minority that wishes they can work things out.

Can shopping spree really heal/sooth emotional pain? I see in quite a number of TVB series where girls went on a shopping spree after some unhappy event. I’ve never have the urge to go on a shopping spree when I’m unhappy.

Each person is different and I would buy a few things that aren’t too expensive when I am unhappy.However, I would never go on a shopping spree because I don’t have much money. EVen if I did, I would regret it after I spend so much and then get a heart attack after I see my credit card bill. Who said that we had to buy really expensive stuff to be happy? of course, it depends on taste and how expensive your taste is. Luckily, my taste is not too expensive and I don’t care for those expensive handbags.
Bascially it depends on the person, just like some eat a lot when they are depressed while some eat less. I eat less when I am unhappy.
My therapy is watch TV.
I do other things too such as listening to music, watching TV/series,and other stuff besides buy things…

Shopping therapy helps for a me. It gets the mind off things and you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money purchasing a lot of items. I just enjoy browsing through stores and looking at the new merchandise.
Exercise has a more lasting effect, but getting motivated is harder.

How is shopping immature? The act of shopping can be therapeutic for some people. Also, the act of shopping does not have to equate to spending millions of dollars on material things. She’s probably upset with her personal relationship with Joel and decides she needs to get away from HK and the paparazzi. So of course you go shopping when you go out of town, what else is there to do if you go alone? Eat 10 meals a day?
I think nomad meant the way that she shops is immature and reckless. It’s like all she does is spend and spend like there is no tommorrow. It’s also not her money either. I bet she has that “da xiao jie” type of attitude as well.
