Former AOA Member Mina Files Sexual Assault Case with Police

Former South Korean girl group AOA member Mina Kwon makes a shocking revelation that she was a victim when she was 14 years old. Although 15 years have passed, Mina has stepped forward to file a sexual assault case and assisted the police with the investigation.

According to South Korean news media, the Busan Police Department has apprehended a man in his 20’s for investigation on sexual assault charges. The police shared, “The crime happened in 2007, but the relevant parties were able to provide proof that the crime took place.”

With movement in the investigation, Mina posted on her Instagram page to thank her family and friends for supporting her during a troubling time in her life. The former star revealed that she originally was not hopeful with the investigation since the assault happened 15 years ago. However, Mina persisted and started compiling evidence in March with the help of her friends and Busan police. Having come this far, Mina hopes that she will get her justice and the perpetrator will be punished.

Many netizens have left supportive messages and expressed their relief that Mina’s life is getting back in order after being plagued in a whirlwind of controversies. Last year, Mina made headlines after she accused former AOA member Jimin of bullying and was subsequently entangled in a cheating scandal as the third-party.
